"All songs recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder," states the liner notes, which description paints a pretty good picture of Good Enough. This album is so lo-fi it's D.I.Y. Tender, unsure vocals deliver considerably studious lyrics over delightfully simple acoustic guitar rhythms. There is a definite "outsider art" atmosphere here, but more so than any fresh singer-songwriter in recent memory Short Hand's songs play like tuneful contemporary poems, real literature in other words. Mostly intimate mid-tempo folk with some bluesy flourishes, Good Enough is a rewarding and pleasurable listen with great replay value.
