In his large output he comes near a long genre list, but on the two "Caleta"-Volumes he celebrates 4 calm, tranquil ambient tunes. Slightly vibrating soundscapes and soft drones guide the listerer through over 90 minutes of deeply emotional music.

Gardens from Light are an ambient drone duo from the North of England. They formed during 2006 and consist of individuals I. Sparke and S. Illidge.
Their release "Birds Of Joy And Sorrow" is a massive work in two pieces. Both together two hours long.
They create 12 conceptual pieces around figures from the russian and east european mythology, 12 deep and dark sonic landscapes of drones, walls of strings and field recordings.
In the russian legend a "Sirin" is a bird with the head and chest of a beautiful woman, singing beautiful songs. But for mortals they are dangerous. When you hear their singing, you follow them and die.
Don't be afraid, take a long walk into this unknown land. And for your own security, on Vol.2 you can hear the "Alkonost", a bird of paradise with a voice so sweet that anybody hearing it can forget everything…

Processing… is about approaching sound and soundobjects in original and unconvential ways. The one time this is achieved by the use of synthetic generated sounds, but just as easily by manipulating and processing existing sounds in interesting ways. These can range from fieldrecordings to instrument tones and speech. Experimentation, improvisation, minimalism and transformation are the keywords. The tracks for this release are based on a deeper understanding of how to create organic, natural sounding scapes purely using FM synthesis. FM is a relatively easy but nonetheless powerfull technique perfect suited for creating rich sounding timbres. Though, when used without care the result can sound very harsh and unnatural. The goal here was to try to create rich evolving textures, which retained a natural, organic feel to it.

throuRoof, a one-man-project from italy, comes up with an impressive 32 minute ambient-drone-monument.
The piece is an improvisation played with a broken Bontempi organ, guitar feedback and fieldrecordings, decomposed with analogic mixer, Dunlop Tape Delay, Echoplex and Revox. There was no Overdubbing, no Remastering, no digital process except the rip on wav directly from reel to reel tape.
In throuRoof's own words: "throuRoof is like flowing throught the roof during the dreams, a sensation of no time and space…"
That describes the effect of this massive work very exactly. You are very welcome to drift off and dream.

"entia non" is the project moniker of Australian artist James McDougall. After great releases at u-cover (zero comma zero, inter alia) and test tube (distal) he comes up with his first release "sub routine" on Resting Bell.
The four tracks, deeply affected by the Australian landscape (South East Queensland), are very subtle, just like putting your ears on the ground of an animated, busy grassland. Little glitches grawling around like insects, soft wind flurries playing in the long green grass. Then you hear distant shreds of melodies, waving through the air, on the last day of your summer holidays.
If you live on the northern hemisphere, you can close your eyes and let in some memories of the last golden sunbeams. On the southern hemisphere, you can sit on the porch and enjoy the warm season with this gentle and touching pieces.

K.M.Krebs has been around in the internet-based-music-scene for a long time. His work consists of excellent releases on Treetrunk, Thinner, Nishi, Con-v and many more.
On "Symmetries" K.M.Krebs presents three minimal ambient pieces with a duration of about 25 minutes.
In every composition you can hear subtle repetitive fragments, little glitches and extensive, wide open soundscapes. It is a dense and complex work on multiple layers, taking you deeper and deeper into the own world of each piece, but you never loose the plot while listening to the tracks.

The sources of this album are from the album "El Viaje Mistico" (The Mystical Journey), originally released in 2001. The sounds of "El Viaje" are, essentially, field recordings from a journey by train in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
For "El Viaje Revisited" we selected fragments and sections from those recordings and we remixed them to obtain new tracks and mixes.
We think that "El Viaje Revisited" is a soundscape. A simple journey by train.
We are very satisfied with the results, because we believe that the originals recordings have been improved in this album. We worked on this albums for four months.
This is the second part of the album, which has more parts of "Incidental Travel", "Station", "Meditaciones" (Meditations) and "Yendo a Casa" (Going Home) that appeared in Vol. I. We feel that Vol. II has a more "progressive" feel than Vol. I.
To sum up, the results of the remixes we made with sounds of "El Viaje" are these: * Two Full Albums: El Viaje Revisited, Vol. 1 / El Viaje Revisited Vol. 2

Zero a m m 0 is a Montreal duo formed by composers and multi-instrumentists Mathieu Graveline and Benoit Panneton, oscillating between modern, contemporary, modal, minimalist, ambient and electronic music.
The three pieces on their release "Temporary Shades Of Gray" are beautiful miniatures, labyrinthine paths you can follow. From darkness to light, from desperation to hope. The first two tracks are very calm and quiet. Little melodie-fragments are floating around, very light and not easy to catch. The third track "Temporary Shades Of Gray" is a massive closure, brings all to the light. It's a vibrating, hypnotic piece of music, visualized with a video done by Skizofred.
Three pieces of great experimental, electro-acoustic music. Don't miss it.

Lost Lanterns is the project of Ian Hawgood and Ben Jones. Both met at university and worked together in different bands, now teamed up to work alone on their music using live instrumentation, field recordings and computers.
The first result of their work is "Polar Living", a 60-minute long, very atmospheric release with six tracks. It's a gentle combination of deep melodic keyboard elements with field recordings (made entirely in the UK countryside during autumn/winter time). Warm keyboard drones are packing you in a safe cocoon, while the field recording-snippets have something mysterious and unknown.
It's "ambient" in it's best way. The pieces create their own room in your head while listening to them.

Alex and Hanz (as known as Mint 4000) will show you their love to the hardware synths with this 4 track EP. This release isn't only a straight dancefloor filler. The warm impressive pads and soft fields also will get intouch with your soul.

This project shows you in a fascinating way that bitreduced soundelements not always have to be used by producing a hard minimal tune. Beside the hypnotizing track *Phantom*, which baseline will bring you down, the track *Memory Charger* is the experimental way of the project. A jazzy bass line which interacts with the drums like a SouthAmerican folklore pushed by a dirty bitreduced synthline may sound verystrange but in this track it harmonizes perfectly.

The other two tracks are also a great journey into the universe of *Insert 84*.

All in all a great job.
