He has given us two great releases on term and autoplate. Now he returns with a 4-track-EP on Resting Bell.Musically related to the "Du Soleil ep" on atmoworks, "rare decay" presents four careful though stunning pieces. The entire release from beginning to end is a perfect compliment to lying down and watching the clouds lilt by. Or like listlessly gazing on a silent snow fall. It is a fitting soundtrack to harbor the softer side of winter's brittle curse. It's warmth beckons beauty that stirs fire in the icy corners of a torpid tundra landscape.Take a rest and enjoy this great piece of music.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3360
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3360

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/rare+decay+/3360
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Boolean Sequencing http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Boolean+Sequencing/3359 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on editora do porto by Les Hall

released on editora do porto by Les Hall
Cover design by David Matos.
Tags:LO-FI FUNK, CHUCK,

License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3359
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3359

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Boolean+Sequencing/3359
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/editora_do_porto/1177
no reason to be ashamed http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/no+reason+to+be+ashamed/3358 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on enoughrecords by alterior

released on enoughrecords by alterior
alterior is an experimental idm project - with some influences of breakcore and videogame music - from New Jersey in the United States. He has been in a self-centered experimenting mode which has possibly gone into a naive approach."Start Here" contains 9 tracks on a scale from playful to noisy and it is all about trying to find out where it aches or not, trying to feel where it hurts so good. Taking an electro-acoustic path, with nothing but a dorky drum kit, 2 cheesy toy keyboards and some stomp boxes. In a way the sounds are a bit "harsh" but the notion throughout "Start Here" has always been melancholic and somewhat poetic..."Start Here" is a collection of arrangements written in 2007/2008 by jmdkm. The actual recordings came together in collaboration with Chris Groeneveld (additional guitar, piano, feedback & FX on track 6 & 8).The recording sessions mostly took place between August 2008 in Seget Gornji, Croatia and January 2009 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3348
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3348

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Start+Here/3348
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Commute http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Commute/3347 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Off Land

released on restingbell by Off Land
Let's go back to 2006.I used to hate my job, the dead-end brainless work.Even more, I used to hate my commute. An hour by subway what would take 20 minutes by car if I had owned one.Everyday I walked to the subway, switching lines in town and took a 2nd line to the end.I dreamed that one day the subway would take me past the last stop, just keep going.Or maybe I would end up somewhere else, somewhere new.Music was my salvation, my soundtrack, those two hours each day. With or without music the commute was a score I listened to countless times. On two occasions, for posterity, I recorded the commute. Now it's 2009 and my life has changed so much.I look back into the dust of times and accompany a soundtrack to those days of travel. This was my commute. The Process: Commute is an experimental concept album about commuting. The album is the length of my commute in 2006. I recorded my commute four times (2 out and 2 back), overlapping all four audio recordings into one 68 minute sound collage. This soundscape became the foundation of the composition and the subtle ambiance heard throughout Commute. Tones were designated to various sounds; watery piano for people & chimes, dulcimer drones for cars, drums for rain & subway tracks, low drones for subway cars, and synths for general ambient noise. The structure was entirely in the hands of the field recording collage. It was my conscious decision however to break Commute up into three sections. Each section represents a different leg of the commute (1 - The walk to the subway / 2 - The ride downtown / 3 - The 2nd line outbound).
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3347
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3347

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Commute/3347
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Machine http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Machine/3346 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Glenn Ryszko

released on restingbell by Glenn Ryszko
Last year Glenn Ryszko released his work "4.0 subtle distorted guitar drones" on Resting Bell as well as compilation-tracks for "SOUNDOFSLOWFLOW Vol.1" from Slow Flow Records and "listen" from duckbay. Now he comes up with his second Resting Bell-release called "Machine"."Machine" is a sublime minimal drone work, inspired by abandoned industrial places. Glenn was born in a coal mining area, which was closed down even before he was born. Nevertheless he was surrounded by these old facilities and industrial monuments which inspire him to this creation. The six tracks on "Machine" mainly consist of field recording and looped environmental sounds and looped tibetan bells. Both elements are processed and arranged with effects and software. Compared to the massive distorted work on "4.0 subtle distorted guitar drones" "Machine" is more minimal, less monumental. It has a really strong hypnotising and repetitive element, minimal drones on multiple layers and it is also a very rhythmic work. Please enjoy this beautiful release.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3346
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3346

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Machine/3346
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
BIRD REQUIEM http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/BIRD+REQUIEM/3345 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Summons of Shining Ruins

released on restingbell by Summons of Shining Ruins
Analog Vibrations. That points into the right direction. Summons of Shining Ruins is a project of Shinobu Nemoto, who works with electric guitar, tape delay, old rhythm machines, stompboxes and 4-track-recorders. No computer or software is used to record this work. And you can hear that in every tone."BIRD REQUIEM" sounds at the first listen extremly raw. You can not define what you hear in the first moment. But everything sounds a bit haunting, hidden under a layer of dust. But the longer you listen, the more you can feel how warm everything sounds and how spirited this work is. You can point out subtle melodies, coming to you through this thick curtain build by delay over delay and tone over tone. You can hear the rhythm machine, ticking and rumbling from the past. And at some points you can imaging voices or shapes, floating by.To follow Shinobu's advice: Listen to it loud and feel the analog vibration.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3345
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3345

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/BIRD+REQUIEM/3345
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
bewilderment http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/bewilderment/3344 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by sylvie walder & entia non

released on restingbell by sylvie walder & entia non
Sylvie Walder and entia non (James McDougall) are well-known names in the netlabel-world and beyond. Sylvie Walder released collaboration-albums with Phillip Wilkerson, Siegmar Fricke, and "_" (as Kakitsubata). entia non has released solo-works on test tube, IOD, u-cover, Resting Bell and contributions on compilations for duckbay and Slow Flow Recs.On "bewilderment" Sylvie and James create a rich and deep organic sound-cosmos. Droning background-layers, instrumental fragments, field recordings, voices, athmospheric glitches and crackles, all assembled to a breathing, living collage. Especially the first three tracks work with this sound-model. Based on Sylvie's piano recordings, James built up an impressive ambience by processing, re-arranging and re-structuring the material. The last track "le petit lac" is more guided by Sylvie's piano playing with only very subtle accouterments and mastering by James. The artists cooperate together over the huge distance between France and Australia, but the result actually sounds like they have sit together in the same studio and knew eath other since their school days. It's a pleasure to hear how all the different elements, layers and sounds fit together and result in a work that sounds so clear, whole and beautiful.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3344
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3344

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/bewilderment/3344
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
the repeating thoughts of old zinng-zanng http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/the+repeating+thoughts+of+old+zinng-zanng/3343 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by gillicuddy

released on restingbell by gillicuddy
"grumpy folk with a grin", that's how gillicuddy, in real life Andi Rohden, titles his musical output. Mainly based on folk-orientated acoustic guitar-lines with slightly broken vocals and additional background-structure from a keyboard, melodica, accordion or a second guitar-line, his work reminds me mostly of Tom Waits, acoustic dEUS, non-electrical Notwist or Modest Mouse."the repeating thoughts of old zinng-zanng" is the follow-up to his "Shmalhans is Kuechenmeister"-release on Merzbau-Label and it is a very special thing. On the release-label it consists of 5 tracks, only numbered by roman letters I to V. Starting to listen, you'll first get two outstanding folk-pop-tunes. Track "I" has a certian "The Notwist"-feeling in my ears, a very clear and catchy melody, a bit melancholic but always with a shimmering light in the back. The track fades away after two minutes, and "II" starts. More dramatic and deeper, but also leaving a footprint in your auditory canal when it stops after another two minutes. Followed by "III" which means 10 seconds silence and then......you hear "the repeating thoughts". Is it the same? Is it slightly different? Am I in the head of a songwriter? Am I part of the process? Is it a joke?
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3343
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3343

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/the+repeating+thoughts+of+old+zinng-zanng/3343
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Midland http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Midland/3342 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Phillip Wilkerson

released on restingbell by Phillip Wilkerson
Phillip Wilkerson began creating ambient music in 2005. His work ranges from warm, peaceful ambience to the more abstract and experimental forms of electronic music, combining guitar, field recordings, synthesizers and generative software. You may know him from various releases on bypass, timetheory, Earth Mantra or Clinical Archives."Midland" is a 5-track-EP with a complete duration of about 27 minutes. Part I - IV are very homogeneous. A warm and continuous background-drone, spotted with shimmering high tones, flows through these tracks. Giving you the feeling to swim or fly on a soft layer of sound. But every part has still its own special character. And Part V is the grounding part. It’s a rework of the fourth part and Phillip gives this part a more concrete, tangible feeling by adding a slight melody and some careful beats. It gets you back on the ground after floating through the first four parts. For me it’s a very relaxing and dreamy work. It just lets me visualize places and pictures very easily while listening to it. Reminds me of a warm holiday, sitting on a hill, listening to humming insects and viewing a peaceful, unknown landscape. Really beautiful and inspiring.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3342
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3342

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Midland/3342
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
twenty feet for buddha http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/twenty+feet+for+buddha/3341 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by terje paulsen

released on restingbell by terje paulsen
terje paulsen is a sound-artist from Kristiansand, Norway, working with simple instruments and equipment, sometimes self made, sounds from found objects and fieldrecordings from his local enviroment. Bert started with brunk in 1998; he just wanted to record and experiment with music in a free way, without stylistic restrictions or a predefined direction. Other brunk-releases are available from WM Recordings and Dog Eared Records. The "winter ep" contains 4 tracks with a complete duration of 21 minutes, recorded in February 2008. All 4 pieces are slow, contemplative and guitar-driven with additional sounds and noises. Only "Laika's view", the first track, is really drone-based with floating noises and haunting melodies. The three other pieces are full of beautiful envolving guitar-melodies, enriched with background-noises, nature-sounds, talking, walking, footsteps and feedbacks.Very calming, soothing and beauteous. This time Steven and Ian offer a single 16-minute track entitled "Sun Chariot".It's a very dense and deep track, and compared to "Birds Of Joy And Sorrow" it's more athmospheric and more complex. There is a continous drone throught this piece, layered with percussive elements, sublime field-recordings, haunted vocals, little keyboard sketches and higher oscillating tones. It is a beautiful movement of structures. And when the piece is over, from the eeriest of nights to the filtered lens of wateriest sunrises, you wonder how it can only be so short.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3339
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3339

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Sun+Chariot/3339
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Time / Line http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Time+/+Line/3338 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Saito Koji

released on restingbell by Saito Koji
Saito Koji is a musician from Japan, who creates wonderful minimal drone-music with guitar, keyboards, field recordings and some effects. He is known for his releases on Magic Book Records, Kesh Recordings and Gears of Sand Recordings."Time / Line" contains the two pieces "Time" and "Line", with a duration of 33 minutes each. "Time" is drone in the best way. You feel like standing in a field of clouds or wrappped in a warm blanket while listening to this. Just slightly shifting tones, moving very soft and slowly. Layer over layer, and only one big, resonant drone, oscillating between your ears. "Line", the second part, is more moving, more concrete. The tone is sharper, vibrates a little bit, and the shifting from one sound to the other is faster than in "Time".Both pieces are really great minimal drone music. Peaceful and centering. Please enjoy.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3338
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3338

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Time+/+Line/3338
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
lbrnm http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/lbrnm/3337 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by jeremy bible

released on restingbell by jeremy bible
With "lbrnm" Jeremy Bible presents his first solo work on Resting Bell. Jeremy is well-known for his project with Jason Henry, his experimedia imprint and for his graphic/photo/video work."lbrnm" contains 3 reinterpretations of a koen park-piece titled "laburnum" originally released on the highly recommended "grey night clouds" release on experimedia. The original work sounds very clean, deep and calming. It is dominated by a own heartbeat, created with a higher "gong" tone and a subtle beat, giving the piece a very specific structure. The reinterpretations by Jeremy break this structure. He slightly shifts some elements further into the background, accents other elements, fills in some easeful parts and carefully adds some very, very gentle field-recordings, glitches and sounds. You can still hear the old elements and find some links to the basic material, but new atmospheres emerge from the original sources in these three pieces. A bit more drone, dustier, rustier, and more open. The original track is a great ambient-electronic-work. And with these three re-workings by Jeremy, you can get further perspective into this wonderful material.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3337
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3337

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/lbrnm/3337
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
The Brittle Ballet http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Brittle+Ballet/3336 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Etienne Michelet

released on restingbell by Etienne Michelet
"The Brittle Ballet" is the new work from Etienne Michelet, a french composer and musician in the fields of minimal, classical and experimental music, wellknown for his "Calendaires"-series (released on Four Directional Doubt, frozen elephants and Resting Bell), the "Tombs for Anatole" (released via la nouvelle degelee) and various other releases."The Brittle Ballet" contains eleven miniature pieces with a compete duration of 14 minutes. All pieces are very minimal and calm, like fragile sketches. The first six parts are very playful, envolving beautiful new melodies in every miniature. The seventh part marks a kind of intermission with a meditative percussive interlude, ending up in part eight, more dominated by sustained string-sounds, and part nine, picking up the melody-motive from the first parts like a reprise. The "Ballet" ends with two long and droning pieces, guiding the listener home after a short walk through memories from long ago.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3336
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3336

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Brittle+Ballet/3336
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Stationary Drift http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Stationary+Drift/3335 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Mem1

released on restingbell by Mem1
"Stationary Drift" by Mem1 (Mark and Laura Cetilia) is a calm and beautiful 4-track EP combining electronic sounds and cello to an organic musical symbiosis. This EP starts with "Hanging Valley", a easeful and meditative piece, with soft droning cello sounds and electronic glitches like footsteps in the snow. "Accretion" begins with a deep growling tone under a layer of light sound-textures, ending in a loud merging movement. You can hear dripping notes and oscillating high tones like glaring sunlight in "Penitentes", named after a special snow formation found at high altitudes. He experiments with a clean-cut range of digital and audio sound sources in minimal way with sense of purity and clarity of construction. In this production he frequently use arpeggiating, delaying, layering, shifting and breaking of a structure in all parameters."Mirrors" is a single, 41 minutes long composition. The whole piece is built upon a shifting motive of sharp, harpischord-like tones, varying in arpeggio, speed and pitch. If you need a comparison, Steve Reich’s work (like Drumming or Six Pianos) gives you a good impression and works with the repetitive moment in a similar way. It's a very meditative work, which can make you calm and let you breathe deep.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3333
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3333

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Mirrors/3333
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
George Orwell's Glass House http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/George+Orwell's+Glass+House/3332 2026-02-21 0:18:38
released on restingbell by Environments

released on restingbell by Environments
Environments is a slow, continual, and site-specific side project of the members of Celer, Will Long & Danielle Baquet-Long. The sound based on 100% field-recordings, typically left completely unprocessed. This 15-minute piece was recorded in Isla Vista, California, at George Orwell's glass house. The recording is very raw and rough, because of heavy wind, and very basic recording equipment: a Nikon digital camera. Danielle and Will only did a minimal mastering, so you have a pure and pristine acoustic impression of this particular spot. The recording was made in between the house (front cover) and the ocean (back cover).Put on your headphones, and let yourself travel to the coast of California. Each track has a kind of deep fundamental droning with field-recording fragments, shifting melodies and glitches in addtion to it all. The release is carefully arranged and placed to a single peaceful 40-minute voyage. The two additional remixes give the tracks a slightly new coat of paint, leading to a noisier, harsher direction, but treat the source material with respectfulness and understanding.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3331
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3331

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Grey+Surfaces/3331
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
4.0 subtle distorted guitar drones http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/4.0+subtle+distorted+guitar+drones/3330 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Glenn Ryszko

released on restingbell by Glenn Ryszko
Glenn Ryszko is a student at the academy of visual arts Maastricht. After having played several instruments in various musical groups, he decided to start a more experimental project on his own. Glenn creates sound by manipulating instrumentation and environmental recordings, using electric guitar, fieldrecordings and custom software. On "4.0 subtle distorted guitar drones" Glenn presents 4 superb minimal tracks based on distorted guitar tones. The sound shifts from very quiet passages to more loud and harsh ones and back again. Overtones and shimmering fragments are beautiful layered over constant, slightly shifting drones. You can still hear the original source of the tone at some points. But the main time you are covered with a flow of warm drones. Please listen to it with headphones. You won't regret it.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3330
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3330

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/4.0+subtle+distorted+guitar+drones/3330
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
A Life In Abstract Colours http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/A+Life+In+Abstract+Colours/3328 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Ian D Hawgood

released on restingbell by Ian D Hawgood
After a bunch of great releases under several monikers on a wide range of labels like luvsound, headphonica, u-cover, experimedia, best kept secret, lunar flower and many more, Ian Hawgood is back home with a stunning release on Resting Bell."A Life In Abstract Colours" contains 5 pieces with a duration of nearly 60 minutes. It is a monolithic work. Walls of guitar- and piano-drones are shifting slightly from one ear to the other. Compared to the earlier Resting Bell-releases, it’s a pure and stripped-down composition. No field-recordings are used on these tracks, no little melodic lines are dripping into your ears as usual with his work, but instead focus on slowly evolving melodies carefully drawn out.Put your headphones on, close your eyes and sink to the ground.Cover-Image by Shawn Himmelberger, www.himmelbergerdesign.com
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3328
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3328

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/A+Life+In+Abstract+Colours/3328
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Pays Natal http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Pays+Natal/3326 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Julien Skrobek

released on restingbell by Julien Skrobek
Julien Skrobek was born in Paris. As a teacher, he naturally became interested in the process of memorization and his work revolves around the relation between music, silence and memory. The main question it asks is: If I hear a note of music, when do I need to hear the next one in order to be able to build upon its trace?"Pays Natal" works with that question over a duration of 35 minutes. It’s a meditative experience and a test for listening habits. You hear short drones, little tone-sketches and long sequences of silence. It’s a deep and fragile work which needs a lot of attention. But it regives you a clear and bright state of mind. Perhaps the best way to listen to it is with headphones and closed eyes. Please enjoy.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3326
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3326

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Pays+Natal/3326
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Stase / Contre Stase http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Stase+/+Contre+Stase/3325 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by D'incise

released on restingbell by D'incise
d'incise is wellknown by his releases on Zymogen, Test Tube or IOD. He is member of the Audioactivity music & visual collective founded in 2000 in Geneva (CH), releases electronica, electro-acoustic, experimental music solo or with various partners. And he also pratices free improvisation with the Diatribes-project and runs the Insubordinations netlabel, dedicate to improvised music. His release "Stase / Contre Stase" contains two pieces of live-recordings. "Stase", recorded during the Mapping Festival, April 2008, is a 22-minutes-piece, based on prepeared sounds from an acoustic guitar. Drones and textures are flickering around in the beginning, shifting from front to back and increase to a point, where all sound-elements seem to thicken to a massive, pending drone. "Contre Stase", recorded in an empty room in an empty house, deals with a similar concept. All sound-textures and layers concentrate on a point, but after a short periode of attraction, the elements seem to drift away, floating into open spaces.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3325
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3325

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Stase+/+Contre+Stase/3325
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Southern Recordings http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Southern+Recordings/3324 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Mensa

released on restingbell by Mensa
Mensa is a project by Edu Comelles from Barcelona, Spain. Mensa creates soundscapes in a dialogue between sound experimentation with high-tech possibilities and the natural enviroment, the landscape and the countryside."Southern Recordings" is the counterpart to Mensa's earlier work "Nordic Recordings". Mensa works again with subtle sound-structures, but this time the sound seems to be a bit warmer, and sometimes rougher, covered with a thin layer of dust. The soft delay flickers like the hot summer sun in the noon. Little sound-glitches are flying around like grasshoppers and some soundscapes are reflecting like the surface of a cold lake.As all of Edu's work, the sounds are produced to be listened outside, in public spaces or natural enviroments.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3324
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3324

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Southern+Recordings/3324
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
El Viaje Remixed http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/El+Viaje+Remixed/3323 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by The Cherry Blues Project

released on restingbell by The Cherry Blues Project
The Cherry Blues Project released their album "El Viaje" back in 2001, in 2007 they rework the material into two new ablums "El Viaje Revisited Vol.1 & Vol.2". But that was not the end of the travel. TCBP send the tracks to 4 artists around the world. And they did really great remixes. The results are very, very different. Mensa's reworks are very dense and warm. The Jc-remixes are more rhythmic and percussive. Peacemaker bulit a noise-manifesto on the fragments of the TCBP-material and Adrián Juárez transformed "Journey" into a trippy and relaxed electronica-piece.Please keep in mind that Adrian Juarez released a whole album with remixes from the album: "El Viaje: Adrian Juarez Remixes", released by audiotalaia netlabel.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3323
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3323

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/El+Viaje+Remixed/3323
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Canciones del Futuro http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Canciones+del+Futuro/3322 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Ghosts and Strings

released on restingbell by Ghosts and Strings
Ghosts and Strings is the current project by composer/sound artist/multi-instrumentalist David Molina, also known as "Los Veneremos".Molina studied and performed classical guitar for almost 12 years until he discovered the art of recording and scoring music for theatre, dance, film. 12 more years went by and the rest was history.Unlike the output of his experimental, noise, ambient group Transient, "Canciones del Futuro" is an epic, harmonic, cinematic, guitar driven, 3 track EP. Molina combines field-recordings, beautiful guitar lines, percussion, organic samples, flutes, and voice to create wonderful touching songs that fall some where in between Folk, Shoegaze, Electronica and Ambient.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3322
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3322

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Canciones+del+Futuro/3322
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
gray sky http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/gray+sky/3321 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by ryonkt

released on restingbell by ryonkt
After the release of "the world that was surrounded..."and works for Dog Eared Netlabel, Noise Joy, Mandorla and audiotalaia , Ryonkt comes up with the majestic 17-minute track "gray sky".Compared to the melody-driven, minimal-folk orientated "the world that was surrounded..."-release, "gray sky" is a dense and very continuous ambient-drone work. His sound is a patchwork of textures and tones with a focus on the interplay of timbre. These sounds are created through the blending of various instruments (12-string guitar, piano, violin, melodica, glockenspiel, various percussive instruments) and incidental found sounds. His recent release "a glass darkly" is an absolutly beautiful, meditative and touching piece of music. Haunting melodies, guitar- and piano-miniatures, fieldrecordings, string-drones are blended together carefully to a 22-minute expedition into a deep sea, a unknown forest or a pristine clearing just before sunset. Every sound evolves slowly from a little bud to a magical blossom, which fades away to become another flower again.A constant evolution, giving you the feeling of warmth, depth and oneness.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3320
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3320

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/a+glass+darkly/3320
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
tierra abierta http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/tierra+abierta/3319 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by calarco/juà¡rez

released on restingbell by calarco/juà¡rez
Two great artists from Argentinia teamed up for a massive 14-minute sound piece: Juan Jose Calarco and Adrian Juarez. Similar to their surroundings which contrast rural farmland against decaying industrial landscapes, the duo contrast various sounds and styles in ways that can be compared to the elegant and subtle color contrasts created by painters of fine abstract-expressionist art. Utilizing field recordings, found sounds, acoustic instrumentation and electronic soundscapes, their compositions take place in the wide field of musique concrete, experimental acoustic music, and electronic sound design."glare" is a huge piece of modern contemporary music. 5 tracks, about 60 minutes duration. From the first track, you can almost grab the intense and exciting spirit, being inherent in these pieces. Dark and gloomy melodies meet abstract glitches, lost radio frequencies, mysterious field recordings and other interferences. With all these ingredients, Jeremy and Jason create warm, nostalgic, and at times frightening scenery. It smells like old basements, dusty treasure chests, old physical instruments and yellowed pictures from your grandmother's photo album. The duo's growing catalog of "sound paintings", each creating a new experience, will see release through a growing list of labels including Resting Bell, Gruenrekorder, Abgurd, Gears of Sand, and their own imprint, Experimedia.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3317
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3317

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/glare/3317
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Calendaires http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Calendaires/3316 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Etienne Michelet

released on restingbell by Etienne Michelet
Etienne Michelet is a young composer and musician from France. After his self-released works "Bleu Vespéral" and "Le Piano à Coudre (The Sewing-Piano)", this is the first release of his ongoing "Calendaires"-project, which moves in the fields of minimal, ambient, experimental music and classical music. This "Calendaires"-release contains two parts, both together over 50 minutes long. Part one begins in a very dark context. Deep, growling bass sounds coming to the surface very slowly, bringing some motives and melodies with them. All these parts are layered together to a monumental and threatening wall of sound, which collapses and falls apart into a deep and dark soundscape again. Part two brings more light to the listener. Little chime-pieces lead to a wide field of melodies and sounds rushing around, bringing back memories.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3316
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3316

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Calendaires/3316
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
The Western Lands http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Western+Lands/3315 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Tiago Sousa

released on restingbell by Tiago Sousa
The Western Lands, the western bank of the Nile: The frontier to a vast and inhospitable desert, today as in ancient times but also, in Egyptian mythology, the Land of the Dead: A space open to be filled, just as William Burroughs work published in 1987, with meaning, an open book' in many ways, readable from all possible angles, strung together by an ambience which transcends the limitations of chronological 'storytelling': Juggling with atmospheres, real and unreal memories, and steeped in occult symbolism. The road which leads to the Western Lands, Burroughs tells us, "is devious and unpredictable. Today's easy passage may be tomorrow's death trap. [] To reach the Western Lands is to achieve freedom from fear."Far more than an interpretation of Burroughs' text, Tiago Sousa's "The Western Lands" retraces itself the journey of an artist towards an unknown territory, aiming not at a conclusion', but a transition: Just as Burroughs intersects the present with an hallucinatory beyond', subverting our common notion of reality', Tiago Sousa's seven compositions draw upon both the noisy and the melodious, loose rhythms as well as hypnotic repetitions, parallels of equal value which never converge to one simple truth, one simple solution. It comes as no surprise, then, that "The Western Lands" also marks the introduction of a second voice to Sousa's musical spectrum the guitar, new counterpart to the piano, the former protagonist of his two earlier works ("Crepúsculo", 2006, and "Noite / Nuit", split with french artist SRX, 2007): From the frail harmonies of "The Writer" and "The Valley", to the harsh and discordant sounds of "Can any soul survive the searing fireball of an atomic blast", the sinister melancholy of "The Road to Western Lands" pieces like "Waghdas", "Ka" and "Centipede's City" always hold Sousa's work in an unsettling balance, never quite yielding to either side, unfolding a wide musical landscape we as listeners can wander in: A musical cut up', equally "devious and unpredictable", whose lost part are for us to find: "The most obvious road is almost always a fool's road."
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3315
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3315

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Western+Lands/3315
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
The Coast By Train http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Coast+By+Train/3314 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Regosphere

released on restingbell by Regosphere
Regosphere is Andrew Quitter, a really productive man from Portland, Oregon. He does harsh noise music with "Suburbia Melting" since 1998, is running the DumpsterScore Home Recordings label, and between all this, he finds time for his new project Regosphere with synth miniatures, dark ambient elements, field recordings and lo-fi noises.
The three pieces on "The Coast By Train" have a duration from 8 to 15 minutes. The ride starts with "In Darkened Hills", an ambient drone piece with oscilating synthesiser tones, tiny glitches and a modulating dark soundscape in the background. "The Ghost Were Hung By Wire" is a haunted and spooky piece, very athmospheric and very fragile. The last track "Black Keys" is a 15 minute melodic journey with field recording parts, synth patterns and a beautiful melody, crawling into your ear.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3314
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3314

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Coast+By+Train/3314
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712

Encounter Point http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Encounter+Point/3313 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by Off Land

released on restingbell by Off Land
Off Land is an ambient project by Tim Dwyer. With ambient textures, little field recording snippets, spoken word phrases and classical instruments, Off Land takes place in the space between minimal, ambient and contemporary classical music.
With 8 pieces and 75 minutes duration, "Encounter Point" is a monumental ambient work. All pieces are arranged very carefully and with a great sense for intensity and tension. The single tracks seem quite minimal and pure on the surface, but when you listen carefully, you can hear layers of different sound sources. There are outdoor-field recording parts, layered with soft keyboard patterns that fade into a slight beat, combined with a shy guitar melody. Every layer is like a unique story line through the complete work.
It's a great acoustic quality when you've a huge depth of multiple sounds in the composition which don't crush you, but instead give you the possibility to explore more and more with each listening.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3313
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3313

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Encounter+Point/3313
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712

Live in Dresden http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Live+in+Dresden/3312 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by The Love Songs

released on restingbell by The Love Songs
The Love Songs is the amazing one man arkestra Sven Swift. Swift lives in the North of Germany, runs the CDR- and Netlabel 12rec.net and writes reviews about free music at Phlow Magazine and his own blog RUBored.org.
In June 2007, Sven performed a 25-minutes live-set at the DIY 2.0 festival in Dresden. The whole set consists of one well-structured, tension-filled piece of drone music, created with analogue synthesizers and effect-feedback only (an exception is the little nightingale-chant framing the performance). The complete recording is naturally placed atop the sound of the audience and city underneath, people chatting around, an ambulance passing the venue. It was Alexander Peterhaensel who carefully recorded all of this.
Listening to his recording will engage you with the enormous dynamics and ornamental structures of Sven's composition. It starts with the solely song of a nightingale, very soft and quiet. After a little while there are the first background-noises more harsh, combined with harmonic keyboard-patterns. These soft patterns are raising to a deep and warm drone-blanket, sometimes disturbed by sharp noises and feedback. All this ebbs away in the end, as you hear the nightingale sing again.
Put on your headphones and take a time-warp back to a warm Summer's day in 2007…
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3312
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3312

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Live+in+Dresden/3312
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712

katedra http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/katedra/3310 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on restingbell by cloudburst

released on restingbell by cloudburst
cloudburst is Tim Westcott from Portland, Oregon. On his first release “katedra”, he operates with very minimal, subtle drones and little repetitive elements, shifting into each other. Originally written for a performance in cathedral space, the first two pieces (”katedra jeden”, “katedra dwa”) are very light, crystal and create a wide open, meditative soundscape. The third piece (”flora”) is a more dense production, just taking you back from the big, enormous “katedra”. All elements in this work are used very carefully and with a great sense for change at the right moment. Every tone seems to appear from a different direction, waving around, striving to heaven. All together a very deep, atmospheric and sublime creation.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3310
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3310

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/katedra/3310
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/restingbell/712
Realm of the New Day - The Remixes http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Realm+of+the+New+Day+-+The+Remixes/3309 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on enoughrecords by Mikroben Krieg

released on enoughrecords by Mikroben Krieg
New album from Thisco legend Sci Fi Industries. 12 tracks of electronic music remixes and colaborations of Luis Van Seixas with many different projects between 1997 and 2008.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3309
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3309

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Realm+of+the+New+Day+-+The+Remixes/3309
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/enoughrecords/118
Dois http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Dois/3308 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on enoughrecords by Ikimashoo Aoi

released on enoughrecords by Ikimashoo Aoi
Another release by Portuguese project from Braga called Ikimashoo Aoi, this time showing his indie pop rock side with a 2 track EP.
License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3308
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3308

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Dois/3308
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/enoughrecords/118
Slow Impact http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Slow+Impact/3307 2026-02-21 0:18:39
released on enoughrecords by Eletrólise

released on enoughrecords by Eletrólise
New dark ambient release from our portuguese friend Pedro Vieira under his solo project Eletrólise.
Tags:DARK AMBIENT,

License: Creative Commons | by-nc-nd

m3u: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/3307
zip: http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/3307

Release page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Slow+Impact/3307
Label page: http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/enoughrecords/118
