yet a face revealing the pain
which wasn't there before
a prisoner chained
by the requirements
without a key to free
the loving heart inside
a mirror with a scar
may not be perfect
yet each one is different
in its own special way so
don't overlook the qualities
a scar can sometimes hide
there's no way to turn back time
so why hold on to old pain?
let go of the echo's of the past
wipe away all the falling tears
little by little learn from the

Slowly building with a chugging guitar groove, filtered funky riffs and slap bass, Strum brings in uplifting strings and a catchy vocal sample, gradually reaching a crescendo with a silky, sensuous vibe. Hold On features yet more rhythmic guitar action, breaking down to suspenseful strings and launching into an acidic 303 groove before bringing back the guitars and strings to bring the track to a floor filling climax.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/house">HOUSE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/acid">ACID</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/disco">DISCO</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19984">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19984</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19984">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19984</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Discotheque/19984">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Discotheque/19984</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/toucan_music/673">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/toucan_music/673</a></p>_In_Re_flectionhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/_In_Re_flection/19983Wed, 10 Feb 2016 02:14:07 +0100<h5>released on CerebralAudio by SoundChaser</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19983_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on CerebralAudio by SoundChaser</p>(In/Re)flection is a set of experimental improvisations informed by compositional elements of Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Cage and Edward Grieg.
Each of the “MiniProvs” (an invented word based on the words MINIature and imPROVisation) were recorded using a different set of Rhodes Piano based instruments, and then manipulated using a ring modulator. In this way the ring modulator isn’t just used as a sound effect, but rather as an instrument to compliment the Rhodes. Not that all of the improvisations themselves were not edited: they are pure, raw recordings. I call them “warts and all” recordings as there are things that I might have termed mistakes or flubs, but in this instance felt it was important to be faithful to the recording as it actually happened.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/experimental">EXPERIMENTAL</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ambient">AMBIENT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronic">ELECTRONIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/improvisation">IMPROVISATION</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/cage">CAGE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/grieg">GRIEG</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/stockhausen">STOCKHAUSEN</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/warts-and-all">WARTS-AND-ALL</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19983">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19983</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19983">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19983</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/_In_Re_flection/19983">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/_In_Re_flection/19983</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834</a></p>Better Remedy EPhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Better+Remedy+EP/19980Fri, 05 Feb 2016 11:06:18 +0100<h5>released on Yarn Audio by atarix</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19980_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Yarn Audio by atarix</p>The 12th release of the Berlin based netlabel Yarn Audio is a work of russian producer Atarix.
The release reveals two completely different tracks. «Better» is a nice atmospheric bass track with tender repetitive vocals, «Remedy» is a typical dancefloor killer, which reminds of the best house music era.
Sergey Khaniniev comments the release:
«The track ‹Better› was purely inspired by radical and positive changes in my life, also by Art Of Noise, Fairlight sampler and early Jimmy Edgar’s music output. ‹Remedy›’s inspiration comes from the same inspiring changes, it also takes some notes from the 90’s house music scene which I like a lot.»
Atarix is a Moscow-based music producer whose music doesn’t fit in one genre. Started out wtih radical forms known as digital hardcore / breakcore, mixed with heavy jungle / drum’n’bass, noise and hip-hop influences, he is known as a true pioneer of sonic warfare in 00s. <p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronic">ELECTRONIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/house">HOUSE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/bass">BASS</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/russia">RUSSIA</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19980">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19980</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19980">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19980</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Better+Remedy+EP/19980">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Better+Remedy+EP/19980</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Yarn_Audio/1689">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Yarn_Audio/1689</a></p>Ang-cho!http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Ang-cho!/19979Mon, 01 Feb 2016 15:05:07 +0100<h5>released on HAZE by Siamashka, Kudrautsau</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19979_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on HAZE by Siamashka, Kudrautsau</p>Viktar Siamashka – winds, voice, percussion, electroorgan ‘Jem Carousel C-450’, texts;

It has the traditional name Rastaban, which has also been used for Gamma Draconis. With an apparent visual magnitude of 2.79, it is bright enough to be easily seen with the naked eye. Based upon parallax measurements from the Hipparcos astrometry satellite,[11][12] it lies at a distance of about 380 light-years (120 parsecs) from Earth.
Compared to the Sun, this is an enormous star with six times the mass and roughly 40 times the radius. At this size, Beta Draconis is emitting about 950 times the luminosity of the Sun from its outer envelope at an effective temperature of 5,160 K,[2] giving it the yellow hue of a G-type star. The spectrum matches a stellar classification of G2 Ib–IIa, with the luminosity class notation Ib–IIa indicating it lies part way between the bright giant and giant stages of its stellar evolution. It is about 67 million years old.
This is a binary star system, with a binary star designation of ADS 10611, in which the supergiant is orbited by a dwarf companion once every four millennia or so.
The traditional name, from the Arabic phrase ra's ath-thu'ban ("head of the serpent") is less commonly written Rastaben. It is also known as Asuia and Alwaid, the latter meaning "who is to be destroyed," though some trace it to Arabic al'awwad ("the lute player"). It is part of the asterism of the Mother Camels (Arabic al'awa'id), along with γ Dra (Eltanin), μ Dra (Erakis) ν Dra (Kuma) and ξ Dra (Grumium), which was later known as the Quinque Dromedarii.
In Chinese, 天棓 (Tiān Bàng), meaning Celestial Flail, refers to an asterism consisting of β Draconis, ξ Draconis, ν Draconis, γ Draconis and ι Herculis. Consequently, β Draconis itself is known as 天棓三 (Tiān Bàng sān, English: the Third Star of Celestial Flail.)<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/"></a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19978">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19978</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19978">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19978</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Redshifter+-+Two+Red+Stars/19978">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Redshifter+-+Two+Red+Stars/19978</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Zimmer-Records/1433">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Zimmer-Records/1433</a></p>Badwaterhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Badwater/19977Sat, 30 Jan 2016 09:23:28 +0100<h5>released on BFWrecordings by eko_fisk</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19977_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on BFWrecordings by eko_fisk</p>The fantastic new EP from BFW favourite Eko_Fisk.

This release marks a more piano driven declination of what the duo has to offer in terms of improvisation, creativity and madness. To sum up, what you are about to witness is less chaos and more melody. Take it with a grain of salt by the way, it’s Purple Mountain Peal after all…
The first track, "The day that forgot to break" (which gives name to the album) begins with rain. And raindrops are the notes the piano will rain on you for the next seven minutes. The track is surely the most 'digestible' of the entire Purple Mountain Peal production; you can clearly hear hints of Steven Wilson's No-Man project, an extremely stripped down version of modern prog rock. A soothing melody from a slightly effected piano, complemented by a haunting guitar that darkens the aura of the whole track, takes us by the hand in what seems to be an endless becoming which never arrives. But still the rain falls, and still we wait for something, and still everything stands still in this culpably forgetful day.
A single piano note. Repeated. "Serenade to a dying star" is an obsession. More like a heartbeat. A life that doesn't want to stop. A sound that by the end of the track you know will stop, but still you get used to it because it crawls inside your ear, making the rest ˗ noises, dissonances, soundscapes, chords ˗ a mere surrounding. Sometimes it seems to fade away but it's still there, just toned down; sometimes it gets stronger, as if negating its unavoidable demise. And just when you think the heartbeat will never end, everything changes. It stops. It gives way to stacking layers of organs, scattered piano notes, guitars with endless choruses and reverbs culminating in a growing noise, a death rattle, and ˗ finally ˗ a longing climax of closure. The star is dead.
Cheers. Beers. Let's create something. The three stages of "This one's on the house", a weirdly procedural tune exploring the whole range of making music. Little by little things begin to wrap up: simple finger taps onto the wooden body of the guitar become loose rhythms; casual piano playing try and set the mood; chimes, reeds and even toy marimbas come and go like guest stars on another one’s platter; and in the meanwhile a single string strumming slowly turns into a guitar loop upon which the piano finally lays sweet harmonies, with a little big help from his hammond buddy. From here what was at first totally acoustic turns electric, even with a subtle hint of drum machine. The creation is complete, the release of the accelerator pedal is again acoustic, decelerating, ending, done.
The last track of the album warns us: “Do not leave your dreams unattended”. Someone’s gonna steal them or, better, they may even come alive and haunt you. The choice is yours. The recurring theme is a piano that, like an alarm clock, disturbs the seemingly calm flow of the music by constantly waking you up with noisy tingling high pitched notes, while a melancholic melody tries to remind us that a dream, even if unattendend, is still a dream. A peaceful and calm dream. At least when not forgotten somewhere, in that case it will constantly ring your inner bells just to be recalled.

It needs its succession of visionaries like Ornette Coleman and groups like Last Exit, to fuss up the conservatives’ suffocating status quos. By necessity the music generated by these saviours won’t satisfy the purists, defying, as it must, the tenets of their safeguarded traditions. These vanguards will operate as the art form’s Trojan horses, camouflaged equine rollers courageously entering the realms of convention; a pregnant prize with a bloated belly loaded full of fresh ideas and exploratory zeal.
Drummer, composer and poet Ravish Momin is one such champion, though the man himself would most likely baulk at such notions (whenever he’s asked about the sort of music he plays, he simply answers “it’s Momin Music”). For him, jazz isn’t defined by a sound, but the manifestation of creative spirits and open-minds, an accommodating, adventurous essence which has, in the past, enabled him to collaborate with everyone from Shakira to AACM alumni.
Since its formation in 2003, Tarana has enabled Momin to realise his dedication to a diverse range of cultural aesthetics, allowing him to absorb a vast swathe of international tropes through evolutions in personnel, technology and sound. Here fragments of Bollywood, Indian folk music and Arabic chant, liberated mementos from a childhood spent growing up in Mumbai and Bahrain, are absorbed, assimilated and run parallel to a mutated strain of industrial atavism, 80s synth-pop and low-end rhythmic variants. The bold resulting statements are totally distinctive, conflations brimming with polyrhythmic pulse, hybrid passages of souk-sunned ambience and Teutonic trap deployments. From the beginning Tarana has keyed into the major global markets, ready to serve punters with its other-worldly opiates.
Currently killing it in a duo formation with trombonist Rick Parker (who has worked with names including everyone from Tim Berne and Mingus Big Band to hip-hop legends Wu Tang Clan), Tarana now release their much-anticipated debut long-player for the Wondermachine imprint, A Fire Of Flowers Grows Around Us, a formidable epistle set to spread the gospel further, a beacon of blossoms venturing out into cinematic scenarios that would make a Blue Planet behemoth blush.
On expansive, sweeping cuts like Tehrah and Safar, analogue and digitised beats fuse and frazzle, atomising into glorious cosmic reveals; vistas where dromedary outriders chart the arid avenues of the Indus Valley via a network of subterranean dub bunkers in Berlin. Myths are dispelled by a neon fleet of Tron-centric light cycles circumnavigating an MCP core, like so many scavenging raiders rifling through the remnants of Lee Perry’s lost Black Ark.
Momin and Parker are presiding over undeniably unique, thought-provoking terrain throughout, loci where the crescent moon manoeuvres of an embryonic Muslimgauze improbably lock horns with the glacier airs of Sigur Rós and Ulrich Troyer’s recent ops with original reggae rude-boy Vin Gordon signals the nexus where Basic Channel’s bass bleeds couple with DJ Rashad’s hyper-kinetic flurry.
Like we said before, Ravish Momin could well be the next (unsuspecting) grand redeemer of jazz – even if he’s already left that sometimes jaundiced tag huffing gulps of his almighty exhaust. Just don’t tell him where the rumour started, we don’t want him thinking he’s getting busy preserving pigeon-holes now, do we?

The overall tone of “A Moment Lost” – this is the title of the new album – is less somber than in the previous works, and, apart from the closing track, the not-too-long playing time of the tracks allows the listener to sort of breathe between one aerial trip and another.
The album opens with the title track. Peaceful guitar notes, reminiscent of Fripp’s old frippertronic constructions are laid one upon the other, like waves rolling and gently cresting on a soundscape sea that invites to sail and let oneself be carried adrift by this smooth current of sounds that finally fade out and away, thus suggesting that this journey, meant here as an intro to the work, in fact could last forever, well beyond any pillars marking the ends of the world.
The second track is called ‘Evening Settles’ and, as the title suggests the atmosphere her could be referred to as vespertine. Just imagine you’re sitting on the top of a tor, the last purplish halo of the setting sun splashing the evening sky, and as you gaze in the distance time stops and space loses any specific features. Slow guitar notes direct your eyes, this way and that, and the far fiery arc of a shooting star. Everything is calm and peace, not a leaf stirs, there is time to breathe and enjoy this moment of passage between day and night.
‘Returning’ is the third, very minimal, track on the programme. Sparse piano notes, scattered on a gentle background of whispering voices, are counterpointed by distant guitar notes and chords. A very spacey track where each musical statement takes its time to come into being, all the better to let the piano and the guitar exchange their points of view.
In ‘Lights from the Far Valley’ the pastoral mood of this album continues and takes on a sort of all-encompassing form. Strings sounds in the background dictate a theme which serves as a foundation for even sparser piano intermissions, until the guitar makes its point with Silas’s trademark long, somewhat frippesque notes that add further dimensions to this already multi-dimensional kaleidoscope of quiet, gentle sounds.
‘Anchor Point’ opens with guitar arpeggios upon which different phrasings are added and looped, thus creating a swirl of repeating sounds that reverberate through canyons and boundless expanses of land. All this looping creates architectures that float in the air or hover over the water, sunlit and bright. Themes follow one upon the other and sounds come and go until the farthest, maybe unreachable, horizon.
Again a dusky mood in ‘Afternoon Leave’, where the guitar underlines the ending of the day while saluting the coming of the approaching night. Minor chords and spacey melodies as all lights are turned off, fires extinguished, and smoke billows out of chimney pots.
The work closes with ‘Sea Grass’, a 23 minutes’ opus magnum that starts in the most subdued of ways. Solitary, distant, slow guitar notes, and silence in between them. Chords tip-toe in, adding substance and dimension to this ethereal world the track evokes, a nightly world of sentient oceans and sounds that ricochet slowly from pole to pole. Then it is time to fly again, to let everything fade away in the gentlest way. Only the essential sounds remain and accompany the listener to the end of this extremely laid back and extremely enjoyable work that is Cousin Silas’s ‘A Moment Lost’.

On this release he explores the Kuiper Belt, galactic lenses, the nebula, an old church, and the stars by transforming each into a sonic journey for the mind and the soul. Artists of the caliber of Cousin Silas do not come along often. Having the honor of going on sonic explorations with him is experiencing the subtleties that we take for granted during our daily lives, and discover new things we never knew existed. (Who knew that we use our galaxy as a lens to determine the age of other galaxies?)
CerebralAudio is honored to release the magnificent Observations From Earth And Beyond.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ambient">AMBIENT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/guitar">GUITAR</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronic">ELECTRONIC</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19958">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19958</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19958">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19958</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Observations+From+Earth+And+Beyond/19958">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Observations+From+Earth+And+Beyond/19958</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834</a></p>Bebhionn Laboratory – Visual Textureshttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Bebhionn+Laboratory+-+Visual+Textures/19957Thu, 17 Dec 2015 23:34:01 +0100<h5>released on Zimmer-Records by Bebhionn Laboratory</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19957_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Zimmer-Records by Bebhionn Laboratory</p>Visual texture is the illusion of having physical texture. Every material and every support surface has its own visual texture and needs to be taken into consideration before creating a composition. As such, materials such as canvas and watercolour paper are considerably rougher than, for example, photo-quality computer paper and may not be best suited to creating a flat, smooth texture. Photography, drawings and paintings use visual texture both to portray their subject matter realistically and with interpretation. Texture in these media are generally created by the repetition of shape and line.
Physical texture, also known as actual texture or tactile texture, are the actual variations upon a surface. This can include, but is not limited to, fur, wood grain, sand, smooth surface of canvas or metal, glass, and leather. It differentiates itself from visual texture by having a physical quality that can be felt by touch. Specific use of a texture can affect the smoothness that an artwork conveys. For instance, use of rough surfaces can be visually active, whilst smooth surfaces can be visually restful. The use of both can give a sense of personality to a design, or utilized to create emphasis, rhythm, contrast, etc.
Light is an important factor for physical artwork, because it can affect how a surface is viewed. Strong lights on a smooth surface can obscure the readability of a drawing or photograph, whilst they can create strong contrasts in a highly textural surface such as river rocks and sand. He used to release Techno and Minimal Hardcore in the early/mid 90s in groups such as Caustic Visions and Alien Disco on Industrial Strength, Network23 and on their own labels. He is also open to cross genre experimentation and has had a long term love relationship with Drum & Bass (and a release on Fuze Recordings together with Lynx). But only recently has he began to put his two decades of experience with studio production into solo tunes at all, and moved on to a proffessional bedroom production environment. This tree has borne fruit, like this sweet Techno tune on 7teen Records just this summer, and is now branching out to the Internet with these two faces of a swinging Drum & Bass tune alongside the historically preminiscent Dadstep.

The earliest quantitative geocentric models were developed by ancient Greek philosophers and Indian philosophers. Over the centuries, more precise astronomical observations led to Nicolaus Copernicus's heliocentric model of the Solar System and Johannes Kepler's improvement on that model with elliptical orbits, which was eventually explained by Isaac Newton's theory of gravity. Further observational improvements led to the realization that the Solar System is located in a galaxy composed of billions of stars, the Milky Way. It was subsequently discovered that our galaxy is just one of many. On the largest scales, it is assumed that the distribution of galaxies is uniform and the same in all directions, meaning that the Universe has neither an edge nor a center. Observations of the distribution of these galaxies and their spectral lines have led to many of the theories of modern physical cosmology. The discovery in the early 20th century that galaxies are systematically redshifted suggested that the Universe is expanding, and the discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation suggested that the Universe had a beginning. Finally, observations in the late 1990s indicated the rate of the expansion of the Universe is increasing indicating that the majority of energy is most likely in an unknown form called dark energy. The majority of mass in the universe also appears to exist in an unknown form, called dark matter. <p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ambient">AMBIENT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/soundscapes">SOUNDSCAPES</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19953">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19953</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19953">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19953</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Dr.+Spacekir+-+The+depths+of+universe/19953">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Dr.+Spacekir+-+The+depths+of+universe/19953</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Zimmer-Records/1433">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Zimmer-Records/1433</a></p>Liberteehttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Libertee/19952Sun, 06 Dec 2015 13:18:01 +0100<h5>released on kreislauf by Noston</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19952_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on kreislauf by Noston</p>Noston - Libertee

His is a classic Drum & Bass background, in that he began by pursuing a classic non-electronic music hobby. He started playing drums at the early age of 12, was in a couple of Rock bands and taught himself how to use pianos and guitars. At the age of 16 he discovered bass, went into production and two years later he had one of his (4/4) tracks played in a club. Another year later the two came together for him when he attended his first DnB event (a Hospitality night) and was there bitten by the infamous bug.
Today he has built up a solid homestudio and uses a combination of hardware and software on his ongoing quest to condense inner beauty into his own unique menage à trois with heftiness and precision. To pass the time until producer superstardom he has joined an electronic band (the hemispherical live act Weisman) and is also in the process of building up his DJ career from the ground, whilst slowly manifesting and climbing the steps towards his future motion picture soundtrack aspirations. Oh and he has an academic music production education and proffessionally works in the actual music industry as well. As his band have been collecting gig experience and is currently releasing their first single, now is a jolly good time for this his first solo outing. Proof is in the tune, this guy's future writes itself if only he finds the time to make more Drum & Bass (where the money's at).

The band already exists for 22 years. Its founder, ideological leader and scriptwriter is Leanid Narushevich. The band members’ staff is constantly changing. The band biography embraces many releases and festivals.
Due to its specific intuitive improvisation Knyaz Mishkin manages to avoid common places of music. The musicians prefer to experiment with rhythm and tune, trying not to use accompanying instruments, acoustic noise and discord.
Knyaz Mishkin doesn’t work in studio, all their releases are recorded from live performances. Recently Leanid Narushevich experiments with combining live guitar and electronic sound.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/free%20improvisation">FREE IMPROVISATION</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19945">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19945</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19945">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19945</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Not+Cold/19945">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Not+Cold/19945</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/HAZE/1308">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/HAZE/1308</a></p>Chaotic Liveshttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Chaotic+Lives/19943Sun, 22 Nov 2015 17:37:55 +0100<h5>released on soo su by Monsta-Pasta</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19943_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on soo su by Monsta-Pasta</p>The second release of the label soo.su was more grim. Rose</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19941_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Feedoptions by Alan B. Rose</p>ABR: “So, let’s start from the name of the album. It’s “Black, white & red”. If you’ve heard the album you could see that there is very many styles of electronic music. Some of them are almost rock I called them instrumental electronic music. So, let’s talk about the colours of the album. At the beginning album was planned to have a name “White Release”. But I decided to include all of my present material into the one wide-ranged album. So, white - it’s a colour of present edm music, colour of tracks as “Fake69”, “Eugenics”. Some could say that these track are commercials, but really they’re too experimental for being truely mainstream EDM. Black - the colour of experimentations, the colour of my musical roots. Experiments like “Back in Red”, “Loner”. Red is colour of music I always liked but stopped to make it someday. This is the colour of tracks “Unknown Motherland” and “Synthetic Lovers” that was accidently deleted. Fate is relentless sometimes.
On the other side, album’s name has a thought of the third side in this life, you know. That there is not only black or white side, there must be something else, something more to live for, to reach for. That’s why I’ll never be a single genre musician. Electronic music is not just a TB-303 and TR-909. Electronic music is not just the loops and beats. It is an idea, it is a condition, it is freedom of thought and life.
Special thanks to Feedoptions label to release this stuff. Because it could be impossible to release this album on other label. Great thanks to Vadim Subbotin and Arthur Galstyan. People that push me forward to music. And big thanks to Mary Alstrein for the picture of me on the cover.
Have a nice music. Thank you.”<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronica">ELECTRONICA</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ambient">AMBIENT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/progressive%20house">PROGRESSIVE HOUSE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/tribal">TRIBAL</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/edm">EDM</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/instrumetal">INSTRUMETAL</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-nd</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19941">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19941</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19941">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19941</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Black,+White+&+Red/19941">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Black,+White+&+Red/19941</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Feedoptions/1838">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Feedoptions/1838</a></p>Universal Swamphttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Universal+Swamp/19940Wed, 18 Nov 2015 13:06:39 +0100<h5>released on Feedoptions by Nirgoona Project</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19940_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Feedoptions by Nirgoona Project</p>Nirgoona Project strikes back! A brand new album with 7 masterpiece tracks. Variety of trance sounds. Psychedelic and classic. Album is like roller coaster starts with aggressive psychedelic “Swamp” and turns into romantic classics “Universe Of Love”. This album is really full of surprises. “Deeply Inside” is very tribute to old dream trance. Spooky “I Want To Believe” turns into raving “The Justified Anger”. Two last tracks are real psychedelic trip. Nice Psy Trance tracks with dark energy.

We present you a new face on our label. It’s Etienne Thomas a.k.a. Animal Holocaust. The project is something between Hypnotic Techno , Psychédelique synths and deep & dub ambiance .
Very very very experimental techno with flavour of deep minimalism. You’ll never know what will happen in this tracks. Vocal parts are real psychedelic trip. Cold synths are clearly preparing us to nuclear winter in our minds. This music is like hypnotizing blow. It takes all of you away and there will be no return.
Etienne recorded this release with a mix of softwares , hardware & acoustic instruments. Author used a Microkorg, an Electribe, two guitars and his own voice in echo at the end of SHX606FX.

For this album, Psychadelik Pedestrian takes a slightly less intense sound than on his last outing, Nocturnia, while retaining strong melodies and his unique blend of electronic, synthesized and orchestral sounds. The album is also fully instrumental, with no vocal tracks unlike on Pedestrian's previous two LPs.
A return to the more relaxed vibe of Psychadelik Pedestrian's Transient album, blending chillout with trance pads and synths, is evident on tracks such as Breaking Waves, Starlight and Fledgling, while elements of Pedestrian's early sound appears in the chilled piano-driven grooves of Catching Rays. Despite this, Pedestrian still blends in some more intense, darker moments reminiscent of his Nocturnia LP - The Dead Of Night has slightly eerie overtones and Sleep Tight starts as a chilled, atmospheric piece before breaking into a darker electronic track with growling synth bass and even gabba kick drums.
In amongst the downtempo tracks, Psychadelik Pedestrian returns to his roots and sneaks in a couple of electro breaks tracks; Pulse combines bleepy synth patterns with bodypopping early 80s style electro grooves combined with a contemporary edge and glitchy effects. Hit The Deck starts with some atmospheric pads but turns into a pure breakbeat and bass workout, with pounding bass stabs and crashing upfront breaks, throwing in a few trance riffs for good measure.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronic">ELECTRONIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/chillout">CHILLOUT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/atmospheric">ATMOSPHERIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/uplifting">UPLIFTING</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19936">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19936</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19936">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19936</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Fifteen/19936">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Fifteen/19936</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/toucan_music/673">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/toucan_music/673</a></p>The Image Has Crackedhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Image+Has+Cracked/19935Fri, 13 Nov 2015 06:50:24 +0100<h5>released on Breathe by Ivan Black</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19935_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Breathe by Ivan Black</p>The Image Has Cracked
An album of soundscapes influenced by the way our political world is now showing the holes we all knew there before. Politicians being corrupt, not looking after or supporting their people but just out for their own gain.
Drips – How the information eventually leaks out to us.
Tugging At The Heart Strings – How they use our emotions for their own gains.
Impossible Object 1 – Using ideas to baffle people about what they are actually doing.
Stretching Metals – Pulling factions of society apart and using blame.
The Image Has Cracked – Finally we see them for what they really are.
Forget About me – This is what they all seem to do once in power.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ambient">AMBIENT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/soundscape">SOUNDSCAPE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/atmospheric">ATMOSPHERIC</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19935">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/19935</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19935">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/19935</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Image+Has+Cracked/19935">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Image+Has+Cracked/19935</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Breathe/1288">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Breathe/1288</a></p>Jetlag Dreamshttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Jetlag+Dreams/19934Thu, 12 Nov 2015 11:33:15 +0100<h5>released on Sucu Music by USIT</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/19934_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Sucu Music by USIT</p>USIT is the name of transcontinental duo consisting of Florida-based guitarist Jeff Duke and Sicily-based (and Sucumusic’s own) guitarist Gaetano Fontanazza.
“Jetlag Dreams” is their fourth release and the first one on Sucumusic.
The two guitar maestros are masters of electronic devices too and their music is a whirlpool where ambient, psychedelic visions and cosmic drones meet glitches and rhythms that add colours and dimensions to the whole. The working method adopted by Usit on their previous releases (“Approaching”, 2010 – “Reunion”, 2011 – “Somewhere in the Ocean of Night”, 2011) is live improvisation via Ninjam (an online protocol that allows musicians jamming together in realtime via the Internet), but for the present release each of the two men worked in their own homes, then sharing files and processing them. The result, as usual, is an astounding web of palette of sounds which flow in and out of categorization, thus pleasing and appeasing the senses of the listener.
The album kicks off with the enigmatically-titled “I remember of slices.” A tunnel of distant guitar sounds and reverberations on which airy arpeggios and long, soundscape-ish notes fly. Then, when you least expect it, here come glitches and askew rhythms, which someway turns the so-far calm atmosphere in one which wouldn’t be out of place in a 24th century noir story. Aircars giving chase to aircars and flying drones dogging unsuspicious suspected, if you know what we mean.
“Inner Abductions” stops the previous chase and take us back into the realm of space ambient, with long, soothing soundscapes that spread timeless and in no hurry. And… are those voices murmuring in the distance? and, if they are, are they human voices or are they alien? For this could be an exoplanet forest we’re in, or just the intricate web of our own personality. The sparse, beep-like sounds we encounter along the way make very little to solve this riddle, so that the only thing we can do is to keep on letting ourselves be carried away by these sounds, whatever they are and wherever they may take us.
Can trip-hop mutate into a new form of ambient which doesn’t fear rhythm? “Up on the Windy Edge” seems to tell us that, yes, this is possible, with its percussive glitches embroidering the arpeggio and soundscape fabric of the music of this laid-back track.
“Unearthed” originates from the very heart of whatever we may think it originates from. The nucleus of the Earth, or the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way. It doesn’t matter, for both ways these are endless sounds which taste and smell of boundlessness, in a dramatic crescendo or revealing and blinding light. Unearthed from the ground, or unearthed from space, to form a whole. And then an ant-like horde of glitches appear, like radio signals from some remote quadrant need no decoding to be felt as the perfect counterpoint they are. A way to root it all again into the earth? Maybe. perhaps just another route to fly away on.
Just imagine an “Interstellar Bus Depot,” a corner on an asteroid, maybe, or a green desert on a planet, where rows after rows of abandoned interstellar buses are. The alien sun reflects on what chrome hasn’t got rusty yet – provided an atmosphere is that could justify the presence of rust – and complete silence. The ghosts of thousands of alien passengers hover and linger among these carcasses, unable to detach from their last ride. They float and they wait for yet another bus, a bus which is not rusty, a bus which will take them to their final destinations, as the alien sun rises and sets on end, oblivious to all of their needs.
Beware of appearences. As soon as “It hurts but I’m fine” starts, you might think we have another very fine if typical ambient track of the type Usit are masters at crafting, but then slabs of heavily distorted guitar riffs and even heavier drums step in which wouldn’t be that out of place in a “The ConstruKcion of Light”-era King Crimson record. Nervous, schizoid riffing that crash in and out of ambience and soundscapes. Just like a window opening and shutting on two dimension that appear completely different but which are ultimately the two sides of the same coin.
“Lizard Hunter” is almost danceable (provided you can dance to that 5/8 broken beat it features, that is), and the overall sound makes one remember about Mirror System (System 7’ more laid back twin project) at their best. Liquid guitar solos and sequencing on rippling soundscapes and drones. A well-deserved oasis after all the harshness of the previous track.
The album closes with “The Dying Night is the Dawn.” A Nocturne piece of music, as the tell-tale title suggests, which tries to capture that moment in time when night is not night anymore but is not dawn yet. A moment of transition. And, just like all moments of transition are thought to be, one wherein each neat boundary dissolves and all realities and dimensions overlap. Life and death, night and day, love and hate. Everything compressed as one, in a single moment that lasts for a second that could feel like forever, just like this track – the most “conventional” of the work, perhaps – seems to suggest.

Despite the differences between the different musicians, the final result is very interesting, I’ve listened it yesterday evening and I’ve felt good after that, again, Breathe shows another good compilation for the electronica lovers. Pleased to listen it, I’ve thought it’s a cool reference to share today. – PerlssDj
