Fantomton is a collaboration of musical people who enjoy parties and live situations - any place where people can communicate the good feelings they have because of the music and experimental ideas.
Fantomton was actually born recording some samples together. We did that like children, having fun and looking for sounds that represent us. With this attitude, we happened to go to a overaged Radarstation in Berlin, at Teufelsberg[1]. The location is wonderful: the panorama of Berlin is awesome, the building simply charming. We spent hours through the building, making fotos, recording samples of any kind, hanging around and having fun.
Therefore we decided to use this samples for making some music, but also to continue with this sharing and playfully attitude. For this reason we gave the samples to some friends and artists that wanted to make a track out of these recordings.
The result is the first release of Fantomton, made out mainly by these Radarstation mysterious samples. Every artist had the possibility to make every kind of track: the border of this album is not the genre, but the source of the sounds.

n the mood of the Party Ruiners vol.1 & 2 compilations, Ego Twister Movie Ruiners is the new free music project from Ego Twister records. For this one, we asked 33 artists to reinvent an original movie soundtrack. To make the exercise a little more exciting, we asked them to avoid the use of any sample extracted from the original tracks, as we wanted them to produce real covers, instead of remixes.
The result is an incredible musical maelström, where banjos mutate into 8bit synthesizers, keyboards into guitars, and American rappers into French singers…
We hope you will love this new release as much as we enjoyed making it! Please share it as much as you can.

It’s always exciting when I come across an artist who delivers an album that can be enjoyed from beginning to end. It’s even more enjoyable when that artist is completely independent. There’s something to be said for music independence in these days of packaged and repackaged mainstream music product. Independent music isn’t held back by labels and expectations to fit a certain mold.
When I first heard Ant’s “Fly”, I was very impressed by the fact that it had that classic hip-hop vibe that only a few “netaudio” hip-hop releases have. That vibe is present even while a modern undercurrent is heard throughout, so what you end up with is a modern hip-hop album that hasn’t forgotten the lessons of the pioneers and innovators.
After absorbing “Fly”, I was eager for more. Around that same time I announced that blocSonic was considering original releases and that we were inviting artists to approach us about releasing their material. Ant was the first artist to do so and a perfect fit at that. Since our dedication to quality over quantity was being carried over to our original releases, Ant was indeed the best artist we could have hoped for to help us impress that attitude on our premier release.
So here you have it… “Dig Deep”, a shining example of what the independent music world has to offer. It's also an authentic and innovative hip-hop album that refuses to be boxed in by quick and simple comparisons. With this album, Ant has brought together a terrific bunch of co-producers, vocalists and emcees that have all added their own touch in such a way that doesn’t make this producer-driven album feel like a compilation. Conceptually, there’s no doubt that this album is a whole.
Thanks to Just Plain Ant for his interest in having blocSonic release “Dig Deep”. Also, thanks to Sleaze, EENJ, Jay Slim, Alex Murphy, Elijah, Joey Ripps, Brad Oblivion, Caitlin Meissner and Yarrow Lutz for being a part of this fantastic album. Resting Bell is really happy to welcome herzog, a.k.a. Bill Bawden and his latest EP “first summer and the running dream”. Bill’s previous releases on Serein were the first netaudio-works I got in touch with. And you also might know him from his fantastic release on 12rec. So what an honour to do a herzog-release here on Resting Bell.“first summer and the running dream” contains 5 tracks with a complete duration of 30 minutes. Compared to his earlier works “first summer...“ has a more droning, a bit distorted character. The sounds are layered very softly and sublime to a very harmonic composition. The overall mood is quite laid-back with noisy, distorted splinters. The noisy elements are getting stronger to the end of the EP but it leaves still a very harmonic picture. For me a perfect soundtrack of the season. Watching raindrops on the window and feeling wind in the hair.
