Time for a huge compilation! Once again a bunch of regular Mixgalaxy Records artists alongside with a few special guests share their gems with openminded people. There are vocal pop, lo-fi punk, abstract hip-hop, 8bit, breaks, idm, ambient, downtempo tunes and even tango! If you love all kinds of implementations in music as we do, download the whole album at once and enjoy. However, if you look for something special, we’re sure you can enlarge your collection with a couple of these compositions.

Our listeners already know most of the represented authors here. So let us introduce you the guests. The first one is Zhenya Ringo, an expirienced music producer from Minsk, Belarus, the author of projects ‘Spi4ki’ and ‘NPKiS’, one of the fathers of Belorussian underground electronic music movement. The second one is a new conceptual project from Vologda, Russia called Metaharmonics. They kindly agreed to share their electro-pop hit ‘Earth’s Answer’. Also meet Grosse, a fan of acoustic melodic lo-fi forms and YARA, Russian ambient/idm producer from Volgograd who gave us track ‘Old Sky’ from his recently released album ‘With closed eye’. And finally we’re really proud to present one very special guest Salman Aditya from Indonesia(!) who brought us some very exotic and funny tune. We can assure you that you can hardly find something like this on European or American scene because of it’s strong flavour of Asian culture flavour.

"Ich bin der Seelenkiller" - the verse fragment of the lyrics of the "Seelenkiller"- song sounds wonderful when pumping out of loudspeakers, Together with its club-worthy rhythms. This is the debut album "Seelenkiller" from the German Dark-Electro project "Schwarzes Fragment".
"Schwarzes Fragment" tries to highlight the contrasts between lyrical verses and drifting electronic music. So it's no wonder that the song "Seelenkiller" - which is also the Title of the album - was in the German Electronic Webcharts for almost eight weeks and is also part on DJ playlists of many discotheques. In 2009 "Schwarzes Fragment" won a placement in the top 6 at the worldwide Alternative band competition, 'Sonic Seducer Battle of the Bands'. The power of lively melodies, electronic drums and the strong synthesizer sounds begin the war against lyrics full of desire, isolation and dreariness. The idea behind the album -alike seven songs (+remixes) EP is set to combine the elements of the genres Electro, Darkwave and EBM. The project accomplishes this task by doing a balancing act between creating a nineties theme of Electro-Darkwave sound with modern influences, Also keeping concentration not to fall back into creating music which sound similar to ones beforehand. The vocals are distorted with pain but are also supported by string ensembles plus pianos. Fans of Cephalgy and older stuff of Blutengel and Apoptygma Berzerk and the Dark-Electro sound in general should give this project a try!

Ainm is a downtempo and electronica-oriented one-man project launched in 2005 by Moscow composer and musician Ilya Kovalev (now living in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom).Ainm (which simply means name in Irish) follows the style that could be roughly described as historical electro, a combination of computer music techniques with strong interest to historical musical forms and aesthetics.At the same time, Ainm prefers to stay away from both thumping dance beats and naive New Age-esque attempts to perform medieval/ethnic music in a contemporary way. Although he likes to use certain authentic elements in his music, such as alternative tuning scales, timbres of early instruments, bits and pieces of medieval music theory, he deliberately avoids any stylisations and performs only original material.

The Guanxi pseudonym is orchestraed towards 'a sui generi sound' through research, investigation and with a hunger to explore a constructed visual and non-subjective disposition. "Graveyard Shift" contains 5 pieces of complex and playful sounds from guitar, piano, bells, strings, flute, vocals, field recordings and electronics. Some of the pieces have a noisy and harsh character of a musical sketches, others operate with droning elements and a more calm ambience. And some combine both things. If you want to find a category for this, forget it. For me the most precise analogy would be the sound world of a modern metropolis. You can hear layer over layer of multiple elements which are structured and arranged into a current impression. But it is constantly changing and moving. With every listen you get a different layer of "Graveyard Shift". One time it seems to be a loud and unorganised cluster of tones, the next time you hear a reduced and humming melody, hidden under other elements before. Be curious and adventurous, you will be surprised.

This is our second (and very long awaited) release of Noun on the Music For Headphones net-label entitled «Spontaneous Music Behaviour»!
And it opens up a powerful and aggressive track of the same name. This track shows the real Spontaneous behavior of music ;) Powerful drum loops, synth samples permeates their hard sound, and the main phrase with elements of glitch only underscores the mood of this release.
The next track, entitled «Excellent» though more monotonous, but nevertheless touch to the soul =) Glitch, sound cuts, vocal samples, simple melody, drums, distortion — all mixed together in this composition. Melancholic idea was completed at 100%. Indeed, Excellent.
The third track on this release is called «Monotonic suite». What a «dividing line» in this supposed «net-vinyl». A smooth transition from powerful beats, guitar distortion, stand out synth lines to lighter but no less atmospheric tracks. Punch start with the samples of the Russian group «5’nizza» + oppressive stream synthesizer, Cut off, the total tune in two notes, clearly marked simplicity in all — this is the main components of this track.
Figaro! This name does you nothing said? All right. This work was written in 1816 Gioachino Antonio Rossini for his play «The Barber of Seville». Legendary work, I’ll tell you ... In this release a very brave try of Noun to breathe into a product new colors, strength and vigor. Active use of stereo effects, panning, vocal phrases from the original play, violin + gate-effect and simple synth melody. Here it is, the new Figaro 2010!
The fifth and final work on this release is called «Old dirty town». This track is like other of this release is no different positive and joyful attitude. All that the same melancholic, and even mild depression envelops and cover this track. It is fully mixed light echoes of hip-hop phonograms, deep bass, simply whistling tune and claps. Small elements of percussion makes it clear that there is also a subtle influence of minimal techno (but, however it is minimal).
Melancholic, depressive, sad though and easily.

since the beginnings of recorded sound in the late 19th century, certain people have enjoyed the ability to rearrange the normal listening experience with technology. with the advent of easily editable magnetic tape in the 1940s and 1950s and the subsequent development of multitrack recording, such alterations became more common. in those decades the experimental genre of musique concrete used tape manipulation to create sound compositions. less artistically lofty edits produced medleys or novelty recordings of various types.modern remixing had its roots in the dance hall culture of late-1960s/early-1970s jamaica. the fluid evolution of music that encompassed ska, rocksteady, reggae and dub was embraced by local music mixers who deconstructed and rebuilt tracks to suit the tastes of their audience. producers and engineers like ruddy redwood, king tubby and lee "scratch" perry popularized stripped-down instrumental mixes (which they called "versions") of reggae tunes. at first they simply dropped the vocal tracks, but soon more sophisticated effects were created, dropping separate instrumental tracks in and out of the mix, isolating and repeating hooks, and adding various effects like echo, reverberation and delay.at the same time, djs in early discotheques were performing similar tricks with disco songs (using loops and tape edits) to get dancers on the floor and keep them there. one noteworthy figure was tom moulton who invented the dance remix as we now know it. though not a dj (a popular misconception), moulton had begun his career by making a homemade mix tape for a fire island dance club in the late 1960s. his tapes eventually became popular and he came to the attention of the music industry in new york city. at first moulton was simply called upon to improve the aesthetics of dance-oriented recordings before release ("i didnt do the remix, I did the mix"—tom moulton). eventually, he moved from being a "fix it" man on pop records to specializing in remixes for the dance floor. along the way, he invented the breakdown section and the 12-inch single vinyl format. walter gibbons provided the dance version of the first commercial 12-inch single ("ten percent", by double exposure). contrary to popular belief, gibbons did not mix the record. in fact his version was a re-edit of the original mix. moulton, gibbons and their contemporaries (jim burgess, tee scott, and later larry levan and shep pettibone) at salsoul records...wtf??? blablabla... check the remix of idoleasts "katastrofa" by air j!!!

Though Kevin Krebs often describes himself proverbially, he is a seminal influence in the Netlabel scene and has created many important works using original source material of the eclectic and electroacoustic variety. Mystified, aka Thomas Park, remains a prolific artist who specializes in creating songs and audio collages from sounds he finds at his Saint Louis apartment or from surrounding neighborhoods. "Reclaiming The Darkness" involved a sample exchange-- across the Pacific Ocean, unique and home-crafted sounds travelled as tiny bits, to be retrieved at other shores. Several pieces were written by each artist as "solo" pieces, and one piece, "Blinded", was written by simply agreeing on a track length, and mixing two signals, one from each artist, without preview. The result is a strange and enjoyable journey that emphasizes the strengths of both artists! Kevin Krebs and mystified would like to thank Sandy Spreitz for the fine cover art!
