A refreshing, interesting, and balanced record, perfect to start the second decade of the 21st century and to be able to belief that the end of the world is still far away, at least for this handful of brave artists. Naples, where this technique was affirmed at the end of the eighteenth century, is a colorful city dissolved into a vortex of problems and wrongdoing. Its colorful streets, its colors sometimes strong and sometimes evanescent, infuse cheerfulness that contrasts with the sad daily reality of a city that seemingly has no future. These seven songs, which bear the names of seven locations in Naples, were composed to reproduce all the emotional contrasts that rape the soul of those who respect and admire this city and its beauty while aware of its difficulties. What an impressive list of work. His new release on Resting Bell is a lovely EP called "A Long Time Running for The Suicide Strays". It consists of 4 tracks with a complete duration of 25 minutes. The EP starts with very rhythmic fragments, bringing to mind notions of old machines covered with dust and then it evolves into a more droning environment. The sound is really dark and harsh. The rhythmic elements seem to be hammering from a distant time and the melodies are haunting through old and frazzled drapery. If I had to describe a room for this music it would be an old abandoned factory-building or vaudeville-theatre. Christopher has assembled all of these elements together very carefully and in a sublime manner. For me it is hard to say whether the source sound materials are derived from field recordings, piano fragments or some saxophone-sounds. As a whole, the EP has a very dense and atmospheric composition. Imparo a seguire le tracce di questo primo lavoro per la coppia LLSO4 così come i due protagonisti della pellicola seguivano lo Stalker dentro il mistero della 'Zona' e man mano mi ritrovo dentro paesaggi di maestosa imponenza, quasi un percorso d'illuminazione verso territori altri, accompagnato dall'alito continuo di droni immersi in una modalità ambient arricchita con intervalli noise che 'permettono il controllo dell'ascolto' senza far deragliare il senso della percezione. Qualcuno potrebbe pensare si tratti dell'ennesimo lavoro dedicato al suono dark-ambient ma nulla dentro '#11' può legarsi a quella corrente sonica, il percorso dentro la 'Zona' disegnata dagli LLS04 è un avvicinamento alla luce, alla nascita delle cose, lì dove il bagliore dell'emozione diventa accecante, lì dove gli occhi si chiudono per lasciare spazio alla meraviglia percettiva dell'ascolto puro...“...la debolezza è potenza, e la forza è niente. Downloadable from Zymogen the release is also accompanied by 2 videos and 15 drawings. The two videos were created via animation of the drawings. They describe two possible perspectives that do not bode well for the future of our planet. Between 2000 and 2008, the ice sheet of Greenland lost 1.5 trillion tons of ice, causing a yearly average rise of 0.46 mm in the ocean levels. Science Magazine states that the ocean's current growth rate is 0.75 mm per year. The complete dissolution of the ice sheet will result in a rise of 7 metres in the ocean levels. Despite the varying perspectives regarding this issue, there is a common thread of hope among global citizens, without which such loss would be inconceivable."Blanc & Noir" is also an installation that shows the process of the work's formation, as well as that of the drawings and the videos derived from it. The installation is designed to be expanded beyond the context of the gallery and the limitations imposed by it. Rather, it is hoped that the work will come to life in the homes and dwellings of those who take the drawings. Furthermore, the installation is a site-specific work that changes significance in situ, since the drawings constitute the work yet remain unfinished. The exhibition space is filled by a screen where the two videos are played in loop. The drawings, which each visitor can take, are placed below it. The work, as it is presented in the installation format has been selected by the Quattrocentometriquadri gallery, and is among the six finalists for the Metrocubo contest.
