Our fourth release is ready to flow. Let us start a long diving trip together with young uruguanian multidisciplinary artist Gastón Arévalo (already known for his Thinner appearance). New album called “Marea” full of organic aesthetics and profound atmosphere is simply a perfect scuba machine. Natural landscapes translated into digital sonic reality, smooth covering environment and obscure all-surrounding matter – all is contained in this brand new selection. There are many things to say but incomparably more to listen and even to watch this time. Gastón is a visual artist too, so he included a little collection of beautiful pictures which accompany each tune on “Marea”. These pictures are generated by code and built upon existing algorithms of nature. Check the visual subfolder. All in all a stirring package for sure.

Second release on Section 27 from the ever prolific German producer Christoph Schindling. If you are familiar with Schindling’s sound you will notice there’s a more melancholic feel to this new album, as the name suggests – “Manic Depression” – the moods shift over the course of 70 minutes in an unforseen way, and ends with the ethereal “Exit” and “You & Me”. Christoph has stated the tracks contained on Manic Depression are very personal to him, which can be heard evidently. Another solid release to his extensive output!

Twilight Sessions volume 4

The fourth album in the Twilight Sessions series. Like the previous three releases in this series, this is a collection of improvised live recordings. In places, very ambient: long, drawn out pieces that evolve slowly, creating quite an emotive and evocative sound. Each piece starts as a blank canvas with no preconceived notion of where the music will go. Notes and noises are played from synths, guitar, voice, clarinet and samples and fed into one or two loops which repeat and layer and decay. These loops can be quite long, so as a performer I can add notes as I see fit, but only have a certain amount of control over what is heard - the rest is serendipity. As I have recorded more and more of these sessions, I finally feel like I am finding my musical voice. There is something magical about the music being spontaneous. I never know where it will take me. I add notes and flourishes here and there but sometimes a loop may be over a minute and a half long, so I never fully know what I am adding notes to! I hope you enjoy this album as much as I enjoyed makiing it. Rest assured, another one will follow soon enough!

Scarm is an avant rock band from St.Petersburg.
It consists of three musicians:
Pu_ - guitars, sound
JimM - bass
Kris - drums

From the first days of the Scarm's live (October 2007)
and maybe little earlier members of the band have come up with idea of experimenting with guitar sounds and compositions building. There is a game of contrasts all the time in their songs: from silent melody to a noise wall.
Scarm do not use any samples or synth making the whole background sound with processed guitar noise.
The band is always trying to make something actually new and recognize itself as a non-mainstream experimental band.

This album contains a storyline about one uncommon day of an ordinary person. It starts at the midday and ends late at night. And the darker street comes the more heavy, terrible and noisy music turns.

Waiting For Me is another early 90s influenced old skool rave track, featuring a barrage of techno synth stabs against a backdrop of pounding old skool breakbeats. This is a slightly darker track to our previous release with more of a Belgian techno feel. The bonus remix is by Beat Doctor from the Toucan Music netlabel who brings the track bang up to date with an electro house mix.

Over the last decade, the free music scene has brought out numerous big names. Thanks to them the fact that there's an endless amount of incredibly "good" music available for free on the internet has become obvious to everybody. But of course there's also an even greater amount of incredibly shite music out there... The good stuff isn't always easiest to find, and most users don't have time to browse through every artist's discography in order to discover the gems among their droppings. As the downfall of MySpace continues curatorship is regaining importance. Instead of plowing through songs on MySpace or Soundcloud today's users prefer sharing YouTube videos on Facebook. They just seem more interested in selected content. Netlabels experience some kind of Indian summer, receiving a lot of attention as if they were all new. They retrieve relevance as a source for presenting the hot. Berlin held a Netaudio Festival last year. New York's WFMU has created the Free Music Archive, "a social music website built around a curated library of free, legal audio." Fuck me sideways, the scene is a scene again!That's why six of the most original netlabels have teamed up for one release – each label presenting three of their favorite tracks from their own catalog – to celebrate the idea of free music, and to simply bring you the shit de la shit! Up it up, Ego Twister, Peppermill, Proot, Cock Rock Disco, and WM Recordings share similar backgrounds and philosophies, and they are proud to present their "Greatest it". You might happen to know all of the 18 smash hits but if you don't you better catch up, Mr. caveman. This might indeed be the flyest compilation on the internet. The labels' idea was also to share audiences by introducing / pointing out each other. It's understood that it's ridiculously difficult choosing your 3 favorite tracks from a whole catalog so consider this the tip of the iceberg. We love giving away our music because we believe the best things in life should be free – like the air you breathe or sunlight or sex (ideally). From 2003 until today, Ergo Phizmiz has been covering epic works of popular music of such artists as Aphex Twin, The Velvet Underground, Radiohead, Kylie Minogue, Snap!, Eiffel 65 – just to name a few. The ingenious results have been published here and there on the web, but the Phiz felt it was about time to release all his reinterpretations as a collection on one label.The covers are a big portion of my work - I want them to have "a home", and I want them to reach an audience.
