A collaboration between Saffron Slumber and Ellipse, this non-geographically proximal pairing came to be, as these things are, via the internet. In late 2008, Saffron Slumber began “remixing” by way of manipulation and de/reconstruction some brief guitar clips sent to him by Ellipse. The latter, as well, began to perform similar mutations upon pieces created by the former. As this process continued, the songs would evolve into something entirely new, and the process itself became progressively more collaborative. An unwritten manifesto took form between the two artists to ignore the perceived boundaries of genre conventions and to simply create.
On Forget the Sky, earthbreather experiment with various aural textures and explore atmospheres dark and light, concrete and ethereal, consonant and dissonant, all in flowing and relatively structurally free compositional forms. The result is an album that is both cohesive and varied throughout its approximate 50 minute duration.

For his remix of Solar Rush, Redmann pushes up the tempo and reworks the haunting pads and lead into an uplifting house track. Though the ep is a further evolution of the dark-ambient sound with distorted industrial sound, it also is a hint to the upcoming album.
More uncompromising the different stylistic devices of electronic music become a dangerous and at the same time fascinating soundrack. Not at last the vocals of friendly singers give the songs the life, which aims constant change.
mind area proves again, that the creativity of this genre is far away from reaching the end with this appetizer. Decisamente non male! Lo fa con un Guitar Improvisation Project con sette tracce dai nomi e dai gusti orientali, discreti. Con una musica che lascia parlare il suono, lascia spazio alle risonanze evanescenti della chitarra, e utilizza alcuni elementi ricorrenti per disegnare degli spazi, dei momenti di oblio, di quieta apparente staticità.
Inutile soffermarsi a parlare di musica tonale o atonale, di pieni o di vuoti, piuttosto parliamo di spontaneità. The material he creates is influenced by a formal education in media arts filtered through the juxtaposition of experiences at his day(night) job as a pilot.After two full-length albums and the EP "blankscape", lefolk releases his new work "weather to shore" on Resting Bell. Consisting of 13 tracks and a complete duration of one hour, "weather to shore" is a wonderful microsonic sound adventure. The concept of "weather to shore" was based off of stories of shipwrecks in the great lakes region, many of which occured in bad weather. The track titles are names of ships that sank in the various lakes. With that concept in mind you can basically feel the dense and crackling atmosphere on this release. Droning basements layering through the structures like a constant fog. Trickling glitchy sounds reminding me of hail showers. And little melody fractures peeking around like sunlight through a cloud cover after a heavy storm.Nevertheless "weather to shore" sounds to me like the perfect soundtrack for a lukewarm spring night.
