According to the idea of Recycling Records tracks were made of sounds borrowed, found in rubbish, left in ether or quietly stolen. Thoroughly processed and put in new contexts form eight calm compositions inspired by philosophic deliberations, faith, fear and narcotic impressions. Aesthetic of controlled dirt and experimental electronics of click'n'cuts - inspired by works of Ekkehard Ehlers, Jan Jelinek or Christian Fennesz - is mixed with trip-hop, micro-house, illbient and electro with a bit of jazz in one, and industrial in the other hand.

Recycling Records proudly presents work of an artist who’s name is well known in many places around the whole world. Antanas Jasenka is one of the most famous Lithuanian avant-garde composers. During many years of his presence on electronic music scene he recorded dozens of albums released mostly by netlabels in different countries. In his music activity concentrates on creating and processing sounds of electronic noise but also composes for animations, movies and theatres. In many projects worked together with famous artists like Jim O’Rourke, Ryoji Ikeda, Merzbow or The Hafler Trio. His compositions are presented in Europe and America and himself performed in many countries all around the world.

"Cut-Off" is part of "Black Box Music" series. Although recordings were made in 1998 they are now fully published for the first time. What's hidden in black box this time? Three compositions were prepared with two cassette recorders, scissors and self stick tape - they are fully handmade without any computer or digital interventions. Deconstructions were base for creating collages similar to classic plunderphonic compositions from John Oswald's "Plunderphonics".

Noise Pictures is an attempt to challenge the idea of reusing exploited sounds. Roger recycled parts of his own compositions, recordings of jazz, etno, electro, unidentified vocals and sound special effects.
As an effect of putting together apparently not matching elements we’re getting illustrative plunderphonic collages presenting wide spectrum of sounds and genres mixed into surprisingly coherent set of four compositions from the borders of experimental electronics, jazz, ambient, breakbeat and with nice noise eruption as a dessert.

ROBERT „ROGER” DEMIDZIUK

During the times of preinformatic revolution member of multiple local bands of miscellaneous musical provenience (Morbid Tales, Yazzgod, The Pronicol B). Cofounder and participant of “Hangar 1530” – cycle of concerts played during 1999 at post-soviet military airport in Bagicz near Kołobrzeg. Founder of impro-experimental formation „Scotbar Roggwid” and one of the organizers of “Project Lighthouse” – cycle of artistic triptychs where music met sculpture and sound-visual installations performed with Wojtek Tężycki in 2002 in lighthouse in Kołobrzeg.
For few years leader of Skala duo. Their album „Skalkulator” released in 2005 by Underwater Music (www.underwatermusic.of.pl) got some very good reviews. In the 2006 he participated in hardcore project Cosmic Liar & Murderer.
Roger is a nick for his solo projects and the first of them titled „Casually through the galaxy” was released earlier this year by netlabel Legoego (www.legoego.de).

On his third album ubik continues combining plunderphonic approach with ambient and lazy experimental electronics music. The idea was to find and sample short loops from the tracks that have not much to do with the mentioned stylistics and to try built completely new composition based on every of them. The way of treating sound is in straight line a development of the ideas used on “Cut with the blade”, where Mikolaj Trzaska’s recordings of clarinet and saxophone were the starting point. As an effect there are six tracks, every made from only one sound loop. Its sources don’t really matter (and the familiar sounding titles really aren’t any help here) – what does is the music.

"Mutually Assured" is an album of musical synonyms. Each song is made up of pieces of an already existing song- chopped up, re-arranged and layered to make new, generally unrecognizable compositions. Soaring melodies are transformed into frantic beats. Album is product of nothing more than sound-editing technique, as no audio effects or filters are used on it. It was made with Final Cut Pro, a program generally used for video editing.

Waking Up The Sun

During one of the first nights of April a group connected with Charles Bukowski's Whisky Club performed cacophonic ritual of waking up the sun on the top of mountain X over the bay Y. The ritual – strongly influenced by Slavic neo-paganism – is a form of reuniting with Nature glorified by sounds and lets the cosmic energies flow through participators, their ideas & their music. All emotions of these moments flew out unimpeded through instruments in an easygoing jam session in unusual circumstances of nature. Edited version of what was played during that event - of which successors will be speaking in poems for a long long time after – is track presented here: digital clash of psycho-folk and way-too-free jazz made from original recordings with a sense of humor typical for Recycling Records. Or maybe it all never happened...

A27 is young man from nowhere, with blurred face and puddle head. Member of Analogsite Crew (analogsite.com), lives in symbiosis with ŻYWA (zywa.calisia.pl). Except music he also works on graphics and photography. Incredibly fascinated with birds and snowflakes. Among music inspirations he mentions Sebastian Buczek, Bartek Kujawski, Maciek Szymczuk, Hailo, Meres & HD, Atom Heart and Aphex Twin.

A27 samples all of his environment. This is why you can find in these tracks some sounds of fridge and belly recorded by his friend, sounds from old electronic games, samples from porn movies and Squarepusher's records.

"EP" tracks are electronic collages kept in climate of autumn evening, cosmically jazzing and sometimes even danceable; rooted in heavily looped sound cyberspace "pictures-stories".

PERRY FERYA - folk musician born and working in Central Pomerania. In cooperation with two other folk artists: Maya (Skala, Cosmic Liar & Murderer, ex- Rzepczyno Folk Band, OKW, Tetmayer & others) and Lech - local animator of Western African drumming traditions - plundered sounds recorded with them over the years to form the "Back Out" album. Works of Perry Ferya Band descend from the culture of local proletariat clubs. "Back out" reflects tradition of collective music playing 'under the influence' out of the longing for the big world and reflections on human fate. If there's still anyone with undisturbed joy of playing, it's for sure the Perry Ferya Band.

"Back Out" refers to the tradition of experimental improvisations from 60's & 70's transferred into the field of plunderphonics. Bits used to create the album were made out of recordings of instruments which were later processed and mixed together. Next step in recycling their own works was live improvisation on these collages. "Back Out" brings together electronics and psychodelic neofolk, improvisation and studio processing and for it's creators was just a great fun to play with sounds

The Many Things EP

Loose Link is the musical alias of Craig Gillman, he is an electronic musician from New Zealand. He released his first album "Random Proportions" on December 2010 through Ross Baker's U.K netlabel Jerky Oats, almost entirely constructed from samples from other music. From there he has made hour long mixes like "The Free Frontier" for The New Worck mixtape site which mixed many different netlabel artists together, and "Soundcloud Nine" which did the same for Soundcloud members.

He has also contributed two tracks to the FSOLBoard compilation "Terminal Window", remixed "Kelpie" for Second Thought, collaborated with Joachim Rontxoelious on a project called "Clockwork Keyboard" and released an EP called Electron Mace, which contains 5 re-workings of the title track plus 8 remixes by Dinimiciúla Duo from Ireland, Flying Battery from the USA, Option Command from Australia plus others.

The Many Things EP for Recycling Records contains outtakes and alternative versions from the Random Proportions sessions, mixed together in a 20 plus minute journey. Craig is currently working on many other projects, including a second Loose Link album.

Based in Russia, Lgor started producing music (Big beat / Breakbeat / Abstract Hip hop) in 2009 under his Evil Minds alias. In 2010, he started using his new alias : Lgor for his more experimental projects. This “Ward LP” showcases every faces of Lgor musical universe and follows a surprising path among different eletronic music genres. After a Dubstep start, also including Industrial and more experimental elements in the first 3 tracks, “Tunguska Meteor” brings us a puzzling dark Ambient tune. Then « Scheme » explores the boundaries between deconstructed IDM and Breakcore. When « Techno Viking » is a surprising Techno tune, kicking and progressive, « Candyman » then leads us back to Breakcore again. « 36 » ends this LP with another dark and oppressive Ambient track.

Ruby My Dear was first discovered under the name Doc Colibri with EPs on Sociopath Recordings or Love Love Records. With his new project, he's just released on Acroplane Recordings & on the well-known french breakcore label, Peace Off.

Sinead O’Connick Jr. is promoting electronic deviance since 2001 by hosting radio show, organising parties, sound & visual arts festivals and creating music less or more seriously for 5 years now. He uses Max Msp patch by Raphael Isdant (http://raphael.isdant.free.fr/) to play random sounds and live effects creating kind of realtime collage with toys noises, voice or anything that can sound low fi. With mashups he aims to step across the different genres of music, to create musical contrasts by putting together avant-garde and dance music, to make a link between lettrist/situationist "détournement" theory, DIY punk culture, plunderphonics, bootlegs and other reapproriations of modern electronics. All the genres that are wrecked go from disco, italo disco, 80s minimal wave, hair metal, euro dance, happyhardcore, midi music, jungle, hiphop to speedcore, breakcore, noise & gabber. From the hypermnesic sampling to the noise amnesia - this music questions our memory and our feelings about this post post post modern culture.

I think Saito Koji needs only little introduction. Besides his three former Resting Bell-releases, he released his work on labels like Kokeshidisk, Somehow Recordings, SEM , taâlem, Magic Book Records, Kesh Recordings and Gears of Sand Recordings.

His new Resting Bell-release "Luck" consists of three tracks with a total duration of 48 minutes. The first track "Old Tape Magic" starts off with a beautiful 20-minute long drone. Beautiful, bright and shimmering. The short middle piece "Count" is a more rhythmic and pulsative interlude, followed by another 20-minute piece called "Luck" which has a much more melodic and lucid quality. Saito Koji continues to produce simply wonderful, meditative music with a warm and soft feeling in which you can get lost every time you listen.

As I can say for all of Saito's releases: My recommendation is to put up your headphones, close your eyes and relax.

Do you remember our regular contributors Waterplea who were with us from the beginning? They prepared their first solo LP to be released here. Let you not be tricked by a short tracklist for it’s a 40 minutes trip with detailed conception, ever-changing pace and mood. It takes you from your chair/sofa/bed to a deep sleep state, laying a road before you and inviting you to visit unexplored worlds drawn with blended colors of rich imagination of the authors. Traversing dark ambient soundscapes through intense vivid beats to engaging downtempo grooves this solid music piece touches dozens of different styles and evokes a broad range of emotions and pictures in listeners head.

As authors say the album was mostly composed sequentially, that’s why it was decided to keep the most of it in a single track to underline the theme of one thing transforming into another as your thoughts move from it as it often happens when you sleep. When one is seeing a dream it is hard to tell when it started or how he got here because it’s in a constant change yet all is still connected. This album is something you’d probably like to return to, because of its multilayered atmosphere and numerous details that make listener want to give it another shot to explore something he missed before. There was also a limited number of physical copies printed; images created for its booklet are included in the archive.

Harsh, unrelenting, repetitive, noisy. All words with negative connotations but not when Corroded Master is using them as tools to comment upon how little the world has changed since 1945 and the end of the last great war.

UK1 slowly unfolds with pounding beat and bassline, dripping with distortion and grit. The track quickly becomes so hypnotic that by the time Sir Winston Churchill starts reciting one of his most famous of WWII speeches at the five minute mark it comes as a sudden wake up call, as much a call to arms for the listener and our modern World as it was for a World on the brink of disaster all those years ago.

UK2 sees us back with Sir Winston this time addressing his peers in the House of Commons as opposed to the British Public. The sample of the speech is clearer, much less distorted than on UK1 but soon becomes hidden beneath rippling, coruscating beats and swathes of analogue synthesizer. After the passion and fire of his speech on UK1 here we have a tired sounding man reeling off facts about the battles fought, buried under the weight of his responsibilities and the darkness which has befallen mankind but still full of respect and admiration for every man, woman and child who fought to protect our freedom.
