Biomechanical Audio Control

The good son always returns home. Once again, a delightful FMcontrol release for Crazy-Language, keeping the tradition of his broken-beat style of self-created frequency modulation patches and complex musical structure. What’s different this time around is a certain minimalism felt throghout the songs. There aren’t as many crazy layers as in past releases, working with fewer elements but exploring every single one of them to it’s fullest, resulting in some very interesting cold tunes, sending chills down your spine at every turn. There are recognizable elements of acid techno through some vintage synth lines and drum kits, but the results are definently not what you are thinking. It’s a tale of two worlds that FM knows how to combine: cheer mechanical prowess alied to the capacity of sending the most creepy feelings throghout your body. Best suited with good headphones and nice stereo system. [F.G.]

DJ L’Embrouille is a supporter of the netlabel scene for now 6 years.
He ran in the past a netlabel show called ‘Melenick Session’ which was broadcasted in proton radio,
livesets, shouted fm & more.

He broadcasted more the 150 netlabel sets, else & there in the net, some are lost, some are still available
(in mixotic, subflow, sonic walker, foem, op3n, avionix, zimmer, deepindub, midnight, pinksilver, stirsound, miniatura,
pentagonik, offtechno, echosuro, aeronautique, loopzilla, random access, italobusiness, solidalab…).
He played in some festival dedicated to netaudio culture in London, Berlin, Frankfurt & soon Perpignan.

What he likes most is a constant superposition in his set, no way to play a lonely track…

Whilst some of us may spend nights vainly searching for released
material of the two charming artists others joyously abjure their sleep to visit their live shows. Both are accommodated with this new release as commitment rewards the senses. Pola’s and Max’s awareness of this is evinced by three new pieces which allow one to surmise how much authenticity music requires as a media to vie with the night, to escape or to chase it – but decide for yourselves.

Hunting Through The Night
As if to challenge the moon the curtain falls forcefully but cushy to unveil a set of funky organs and a drifty pumping groove. These words will open hearts of all restless minds among us for they are expression of a force with dark and pristine origin. In our inexhaustible thrill of the chase we draw repose from the interlude – yet it only serves the return of an almost obsessive desire for the inexperienced.

Standstill
In a confidingly temptatious manner the warm and mellow soundscape engages with clear, optimistic and uplifting percussions – an interchange that leads light-footedly to the inexorable grounds of probing questions. Hope enters the soundscape accompanied by an interplay of indeterminate
voices only to then vanish through soulfully arranged strings in the audible sand of time.

Strange Time
Fragile, seeking tones open up previously unknown sound and tempo atmospheres. They mingle with an incipient downbeat and merge into a longing and melancholic composition
that provides room for deep and emphatic vocals. A Development towards more mature lyrics and sounds evinces and enables Geschwister Schumann to tread new promising paths that whet our appetite for more.

The opener "Advanced" is a dry piece of funky Techhouse. "Song10" comes in two progressive versions. Both flow with the same juicy rhythm but build up very different atmospheres. The last one "Versus" is a real peaktime player. Forward-moving Techno with a suprising expressive leadline. Clubstuff as it should be.

Ghostkid returns to BFW with an EP of funky electronica.
From the sci-fi intro to funky grooves and grainy electronics.

Ghostkid is Donny Jankowski, a Milwaukee-based producer and musician.
First influenced by psychedelic and blues guitar, Donny cut his early instrumentals on an old two-track cassette recorder he found in his parents' basement.
Progressing as a musician, it wasn't long before he began migrating towards electronic music production. Pulling influences from lo-fi, IDM, dub, and psychedelia, Ghostkid currently loves balancing an organic and melodic feel over a crunchy, beat-heavy backdrop and spacious atmosphere.
Ghostkid albums never sound completely alike, but multi-layered sound and a bit of sci-fi always hold his style together.
(Spooky Child is just one of many side projects).

heu{s-k}ach is a duo of improvisors (d’incise and Marcel Chagrin) generating long sound constructions, opposing simple, sometime almost repetive elements to concrete textures and deep drones. The hypnotic result is a bastard born from a large range of inspirations like free improv, electroacoustic music, drone and psychedelic music.

For "I know not what tomorrow will bring" they teamed up with Pedro Sousa and recorded 4 wonderful pieces in Lisbon. Using guitar, electronics, a bass drum, objects and a tenor sax they create a wide and open ambience, oscillating between silent passages, rhythmic structures and long drones. Although the complete work is improvised and offers a free structure, all participants keep it together in a very subtle way.

The result is a fantastic work, fitting perfectly to a sleepless, warm and humid summer night.

“Drugstore Showcase”

Drugstore born at start of 2009 as union of Bayona Music Collective artist. One name, six persons, one target, six visions of techno music. This is what they are, one formation, able to release from tech-house to schranz music. Always in the same line, their line. Their music always get in touch with techno lovers, always groove, some dark and some industryal sounds, very mental.In their first year of life, they have released tracks and podcasts in several netlabels around Europe: Offaudio (SPA), Antiritmo (SPA), Ignored Records (SPA), Zimmer (GER), Subversive Media (SPA), Loopzilla (GER), Mixotic (GER), with great download statics, and great feedbacks from several dj’s/producers of the electronic scene around the world. Furthermore, their tracks and sets have been played in some radio stations from Spain to United Kingdom, as Sonidos Distintos (SPA), Mantis (UK), Dirty Radio (UK) or Wavesound FM (CZ) About dj sets, in 2009 they have showed their music in some clubs as CODE @ Fabrik, TABOO, MAMBO House club, PASARELLA,…sharing line-up with great artists as Mark Broom, James Ruskin, Adam Beyer, Octave One, Ben Sims, Cristian Varela, Exium, Mark Williams, Reeko, Nuke or Cesar Almena.
For 2010, plan is continue growing. In February they released a first track in Naked Lunch (Portugal) and at this moment they could published releases & remixes for M_REC Digital (IT), Inoquo (SPA), Audio Exit (HUN), Zimmer Records (GER) & Atrum Artifex Recordings (POL)
