They have been produced in 2017, within just one year. Because of this temporal and musical closeness why not calling them a loose trilogy?
What made this extraordinary output? Creative hurry as a need! At this time Torn brims with song ideas, which scream for realisation. Just with a high work pace for his productions as a rule of game, he can cope with all his ideas in equal measure to save the tension between them.
Torn does not slow up with “cutting”. His diamonds stay rough. And therefore his often still like potential hits well arranged songs contain the immediate, the spontaneous and the wild of the recording sessions: delicious rock’n roll ingredients like easy improvisations, free performed texts, unpolished first take guitars, digital hiss, shreds of words or provoking noise escapades. Creative hurry as means of work!
This ambivalence also occurs in the lyrics. In German and English Torn touches on stories, which often stay mysterious, appear like being fragmentarily or improvisationally performed or just can be adumbrated sunken in rich sound. Shoegaze! He likes to play with irony und irritates with a mix of possibly autobiographical or fictitious content. But then fully pop star again Torn puts on a show, when in his texts he slips into rolls, representing the guy, who knows what’s going on, or the one, who is far too rich to be interested in anything.
Torn does not hide his inspiration. On his albums he hints on artists like The Beach Boys, Suicide, Velvet Underground or Stooges. And also japanese psych rock bands like Les Rallizes Denudes, White Heaven or The Stars have a strong influence on him. But he never wears out in just emulating this music. Torn is creating his very own sound: risky, experimental, new. And with his music he draws a flashy bow from almost schlager-like Beat Music, over Broken Dilletante Lofi Rock up to Drone Guitar Noise. Strangely intimate. Unadapted and mainstream.
“Beaches” is Torn’s first album. Psych-Rock was the inspiration, particularly japanese artists like Yura Yura Teikoku, You Ishihara or the Stars. Hard to believe but true: Here you find schlager-like songs (Tired) next to noise orgies (Rich). <p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/pop">POP</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/djummi">DJUMMI</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/noiselofi">NOISELOFI</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/psych%20rock">PSYCH ROCK</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/vega">VEGA</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-nd</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20369">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20369</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20369">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20369</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Beaches/20369">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Beaches/20369</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/djummi-records/1638">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/djummi-records/1638</a></p>Ghostshttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Ghosts/20367Fri, 23 Mar 2018 08:42:45 +0100<h5>released on djummi-records by Breakup-Party</h5><img src="http://sonicsquirrel.net/asset/image/release/20367/75" /><br /><p>released on djummi-records by Breakup-Party</p>This record stops me. It detains and thrills me.
Right from the first bars an excitement arises, whose bow reaches to the end of the album. The charismatic singing gets my attention, and I follow on its shimmering melody paths up to the texts with edges. Before I first get rocked by the inventive drums and the fuzz guitars ruin my hair. “Ghosts” enters my ears and jack-knifes immediately.
Up next I notice unrest, a constant subtle nervousness. Something’s seething, the premonition of desired and inevitably upcoming uncompromising change. The “where’s my mind” feeling creeps over me and in my mind’s eye I see skyscrapers collide. The songs are telling from the struggle to love and to live, from social conventions and the desperate wish to get rid of them.
I like the “Pop” this way: When in fact this music is banging in the true sense of the word. Catchy and radical! And together with the fellows Indie and Noise “Ghosts” ranges from doubting fragile to resolute explosive: passionately, unsparingly and glamorously!
And also something else makes this album special to me: In spite of all this (indie) pop appeal Breakup-Party displays, I perceive the music as natural and authentic. Listening to it I come across a musical and substantial depth, which maybe just is possible with musicians, who are good old friends. It feels like being high up on a snow capped mountain. Your breath crystalizes before you in the air. All around is peaceful and calm, with a gentle wind blowing about.
Snow is drifting along a crest, forming a snow bank that obstructs your view. Up here, the snowline exists year-round, but in the middle of winter the tremendous walls of snow make the mountain a different experience: cold, pristine, and white as far as the eye can see.
Despite the plummeting temperatures, you can feel the warmth of the perfection of this place. Is it just layer-on-layer of clothes insulating you? Or have you reached the stage of hypothermia when you start feeling warmer despite your body temperature?
Being in this cold for over an hour is starting to have it's effects on you physically and mentally. You can either go home and rest where it is safe, or you can start your journey into the cold depths above the _Snowline_ with Cousin Silas again.

In "Clarinets, Piano and Strings (Thing 554)" the composer takes the listener on a lively and sometimes dissonant tour of the three named instruments. The latter two of the three pieces entitled "Dream Frontiers 1 (Thing 551)", "Dream Frontiers 2 (Thing 552)" and "Dream Frontiers 3 (Thing 553)" explore tone and melody in a fresh and often delightful way. Each features appealing melodies presented without the burden upon the listener of any cloying sweetness. The album concludes with "Gentle Horns and Strings (Thing 555)", a piece with a feeling of remote majesty that hearkens back a bit to Sibelius. The five pieces of "Strings Hosting" fit neatly together, providing a blend of disparate sounds and styles that make for a good listen.

Fingerflood is an electronic music project born as a part of the many musical extensions of Gaetano Fontanazza.
What we have in this debut release, named “Beats and Stabs and Kick in Four,” is the strong intent to basically dive into the fat obscure electronic moods of dub techno, somehow near to the Berlin scene if you like. The release has an ideal split in the middle of its playlist, switching from dub techno to more dub idm-oriented tracks.
Songs flow of course but rather than a continuous stream of consciousness they almost seem to have a kind of ideal structure of arranged, or deranged, pieces of music.
The feel of an “opera prima” is clear here. The title itself winks at the well known Propellerhead album of the nineties, which was an experimental sound lab in its way. Some features in this release comprise the young and awesome producer/dj Federico Di Gangi on synths cutoff in the track “Floater” and the most valued pianist composer Fabio Anile in “Blesser”, who donated one of his source soundscapes (part of an upcoming release on the Laverna netlabel) to make an extended sunny dub remix happen at the end of this album.
In force of our faith in collaborative free distribution, this six-track EP has been co-released on the same day by SUCUMUSIC, EPHEDRINA NETLABEL and NOISYBEAT EXTENDED.
Hopefully more to come from Fingerflood, fasten your seatbelt and be ready to receive beats and stabs and kick in four in the face. You will be dragged into a suspended land where you want to let the bass frequencies fly you on a moving liquid matter of floating sequences, pads, voice samples and much more.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/idm">IDM</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/dub">DUB</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/dub%20techno">DUB TECHNO</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/tech%20house">TECH HOUSE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/bass">BASS</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20339">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20339</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20339">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20339</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Beats+And+Stabs+And+Kick+In+Four/20339">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Beats+And+Stabs+And+Kick+In+Four/20339</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Sucu_Music/1766">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Sucu_Music/1766</a></p>We are such stuff as dreams are made onhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/We+are+such+stuff+as+dreams+are+made+on/20338Thu, 26 Oct 2017 22:56:35 +0200<h5>released on Breathe by Ivan Black</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/20338_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Breathe by Ivan Black</p>“We are such stuff as dreams are made on”
A Quote from Shakespeare’s The Tempest inspired me to see how relevant the story is against todays lives and politics?
Little has changed, people are still seeking revenge or power, but hopefully like in the story love for each other will eventually win the day.
A dream perhaps but a nice one to think that eventually we will put our differences behind us and start to trust and teach other.

David Alan Krebs’ “Tides” discovers gently evolving drone sounds and, in particular, the textures within sound variations. Each track feels like a visit to a garden of diverse Baja California---each piece is distinct, solitary, spiky in its own way, and pleasantly alien. The pieces range from less than a minute to a few minutes each. The listener is pulled into a single musical in each track, which is investigated thoroughly and dispassionately. Listening is a pleasure rather than a laboratory explosion. Every piece presents the listener with its own bit of sonic intrigue. This is music that is clinical in its experiments while retaining its humanity. The artist eschews beats, time-signature-melodies, and pat ambient themes. Instead, pieces like “Draping Slowly” and “Crevices” contain music which neither panders to nor pulverizes the listener. No two pieces are faintly alike, but all the pieces fit well together. In “Cloud Base (Stage Two)” the drone hovers in that angelic space between the familiar and the strange, where the insights feel within grasp but the conclusions are wordless. The dozen tracks which make up “Tides” are ideal listening for an Autumn day, or an autumnal mood. David Alan Krebs takes us on a journey, and we are delighted to hike along.

A music: very simple, as present and obvious as the happening round us. Its sounds: Elements in space, which fly apart in uniform motion, without resistance and get together again.
Llankrú masters the vanishing till the dispersal. Just as its opposite: The bang, with which all wants to expand into space from the center with force. In doing so time is relative. And therefore their im- and explosions happen in seemingly endless calm.
The instruments sound like they sound. A guitar, a second, guitar, a bass and a drum set. The musicians have freed sound and arrangement from all the superfluity and potential masquerade. But intuitively, not wilfully. The single sin is the glowing overdrive sometimes. But to this one the blessing was given already.
With all this „Sturz durch Raum und Zeit Richtung Unendlichkeit“ (C. Karges) Llankrú’s songs relate wonderfully. They could be the six episodes of a film, which may work stand-alone, but forge a bridge of a whole narration together.
The narrative power rises with the reduction. That’s the magic of the basics. Everything runs to a point, slowly the sum of the parts emerges and condenses more and more. And than suddenly: Nothing. Christ)<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/lofi">LOFI</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20netaudio"> NETAUDIO</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20ccmusic"> CCMUSIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20djummi"> DJUMMI</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20instrumental"> INSTRUMENTAL</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20dresden"> DRESDEN</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20alternative"> ALTERNATIVE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20postrock"> POSTROCK</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-nd</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20335">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20335</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20335">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20335</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Llankru/20335">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Llankru/20335</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/djummi-records/1638">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/djummi-records/1638</a></p>E2http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/E2/20331Tue, 17 Oct 2017 18:18:34 +0200<h5>released on Soisloscerdos by Rizke</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/20331_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Soisloscerdos by Rizke</p><p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/techno">TECHNO</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/"></a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/%20industrial"> INDUSTRIAL</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-nd</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20331">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20331</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20331">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20331</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/E2/20331">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/E2/20331</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Soisloscerdos/1686">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Soisloscerdos/1686</a></p>No Cure For Musichttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/No+Cure+For+Music/20330Tue, 17 Oct 2017 05:26:48 +0200<h5>released on CerebralAudio by Daniel Robert Lahey</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/20330_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on CerebralAudio by Daniel Robert Lahey</p>Daniel Robert Lahey wields the tools of a trained classical musician in pursuit of ambient music with direct and fresh (but never simple) melodic charms. Each of his pieces bears a symphonic influence, but each piece aims to provide the listener a listening experience of intriguing sound-on-sound. Rather than the sunny sleepwalk of new-age-style waves of saccharine melody, Lahey weaves complex themes throughout each composition.
This is not music for everyone—but it is music for anyone. In “No Cure”, Daniel Robert Lahey takes the listener in for a digital scan, and the diagnosis is positive for sound. This is sound to take the indolence of an idle hour and turn it into the therapy of intriguing sonic exploration.
Daniel has been involved in making music since he was first able to reach the keys on a piano. He started playing guitar at the age of 10, but only got serious about it when he thought it was a good way to pick up girls at the age of 15. In all he studied classical guitar for 12 years.
After the guitar, Daniel became interested in Synthesizers. He's been playing keyboards for over 50 years. His natural love of classical music has lead him to combine his passion for Synthesizers with writing his own works. He has written over 500 pieces of classical music.

In the days following the United States bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II, the residents were left to deal with the fallout from the devices. Nuclear fallout is commonly known as Black Rain. Fabio Keiner has recorded a series of works that looks at the exposure to radioactive fallout in terms of ambiguous time perspective. The X on Black Rain could be interpreted as days, weeks or even months.
Fabio Keiner hails from Vienna, Austria. He creates musical pieces and photographs. His credits include his contribution to the soundtrack to the 2015 award winning short film "Reformation" by director Hoyon Jung.
Active in the netlabel scene for years, his soundscapes, melodies and drones criss-cross the borders among ambient, dark ambient, abstract experimental and melodic electronica. His work is atmospheric and imaginative, with a sound that seems narrative without quite telling specific stories in defined words. His releases have appeared on numerous labels, including Treetrunk Netlabel, Webbed Hand Netlabel, Petroglyph Music, and Cian Orbe netlabel.

His productions are heavily based on a cut-n-paste, microsampling technique, always pursuing that magical moment when apparently diverse an unconnected sound samples earn a new life when put together, and the music that emerges becomes more than the sum of its parts. ‘Fang’ (‘mud’ in catalan) is an attempt to go back to the signature sounds that are on the base of his musical taste, work with them, massage and mold them until they become the dough for a new bread. This project has also taken a new dimension with the remixes of three fabulous sample manglers like Flat Nandez, Oowt and Nigel Perera.

Daniel isn't prone to dabbling in atonality, or massive scale compositions which leave the listener bewildered. Instead he provides five mid-sized pieces that satisfy and entertain classical music stalwarts and the curious alike.
Daniel as able to provides moods from melancholy to joyous, while exercising a range of composition from classical to 20th Century. He also finds the humor in classical music through the titles of his works (such as "Just a Bunch of Singers and Stuff" and "Just Next to a Large, Strange Object").

For this project he used contact microphoones to make recordings of machines and appliances. These recordings were then processed digitally to find the hidden harmonics and rhythms. His latest release, Mu, focuses on finding the harmonies and rhthms in the noise produced by old ishortwave radios.
Grid Resistor is Thomas Jackson Park's first post-Mystified project. The Grid resister series is limited to twenty four releases, one for each letter of the Greek alphabet. (With a couple of side-project collaborations.) Mu is the final recording to be released in the series.
Thomas Park (formerly Mystified, AutoCad, Mister Vapor) has been involved with music all his life. He was trained in classical and jazz music as a teenager, playing trombone and piano. In the 1980's he became interested in electronic music, and started the band AutoCad. After a collaboration with Robin Storey, he evolved into the ambient / drone work of Mystified. Early in 2017 Thomas decided to retire his Mystified persona in order to pursue other projects outside the ambient and drone areas. Currently he has been working on releasing his massive back-catalog of tape recordings and archival copies of selected works through his Treetrunk Label.

Daniel Robert Lahey is not an impulsive composer. He takes a lot of time working throuhg his pieces, developing them a little bit at a time. This kind of process is prone to rigorous mental processes by which he works on an idea only to realize it didn't lead where to a good conclusion. So, it becomes a game of re-thinking his ideas through multiple times.
On After Un-Rethinking Things Again Daniel documents several works that developed over a longer period of time. Pieces that were more difficult in composition, but more rewarding in their results.

Ensaios is a quick collection of sounds where I create and perform then live with Modular synthesizer, drum machines and some FX - no post processing, or arrangement. everything performed and recorded on the fly. Cold Star was originally released in 2015, and lost in early 2017 when the issuing label disappeared from the internet. Cold Star was not alone, eleven other works from Cousin Silas's catalog were lost as well. All of these works have been placed with new labels, including CerebralAudio.
In searching to re-release these lost works, Cousin Silas sought to disperse them across numerous labels to diversify the distribution of his work. With a catalog of over 150 releases to his credit Cousin Silas has always felt it important to his works to multiple outlets, including CerebralAudio. Cold Star is the first lost work to have been given a new home on the CerebralAudio.
Many Cousin Silas works are built on the concepts found in science fiction and science. It is one of the most fertile grounds for exploration in an artistic context that is available.
Cold Star is a long-form recording that creates the ambience of a long journey to another planet. This journey conlcudes with the view of a brown dwarf star, known as a "cold star". Cold stars have long been the subject of science fiction, having been referenced in many novels and TV series. In science cold stars are commonly known as brown dwarfs, (or "failed stars") which are unable to create their own energy.

The first drum and bass style electronica release on CerebralAudio. It seems that Basic Elements is set on making as many firsts on CererbralAudio as he can, and we approve!
With this release he set out to produce an old school DnB release, harking back to the roots of Jungle music and the influences of producers like LTJ Bukem, Nightmares On Wax and The Prodigy. Breakbeats and Amen break inspired rhythms are the core of this release.
But it is much more. It is a listening experience: you will listen to from start to finish, and add to your playlist. There is not a weak track on this release. Bit this is the way Pim van Dorst works as Basic Elements, if he isn’t satisfied that his music can be listened to from start to finish, he won’t release it. He is a perfectionist, and it shows in his music.
This is a recommended headphone listening release for all lovers of DnB and Jungle music styles!<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronic">ELECTRONIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/jungle">JUNGLE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/"></a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/drum-n-bass">DRUM-N-BASS</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20312">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20312</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20312">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20312</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Drum+and+Bones/20312">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Drum+and+Bones/20312</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834</a></p>WAVELANDhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/WAVELAND/20311Thu, 24 Aug 2017 22:01:34 +0200<h5>released on Breathe by getdizzzy</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/20311_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on Breathe by getdizzzy</p>getdizzzy is a composer, DJ and game designer living in Chicago. drawing from from ambient, hip-hop, techno, experimental sound collage and noise, getdizzzy's music is rewardingly idiosyncratic, unfamiliar, colorful and accessible. <p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ambient">AMBIENT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/downtempo">DOWNTEMPO</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/soundscape">SOUNDSCAPE</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/big%20beat">BIG BEAT</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/sound%20collage">SOUND COLLAGE</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20311">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20311</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20311">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20311</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/WAVELAND/20311">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/WAVELAND/20311</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Breathe/1288">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/Breathe/1288</a></p>Alex Mason & The Minor Emotion - Soul Breakerhttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Alex+Mason+&+The+Minor+Emotion+-+Soul+Breaker/20310Thu, 24 Aug 2017 17:18:33 +0200<h5>released on enoughrecords by Alex Mason & The Minor Emotion</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/20310_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on enoughrecords by Alex Mason & The Minor Emotion</p>Contemporary classical music album by Russian projects Alex Mason and The Minor Emotion in collaboration. This release starts with the serene, floating Given Time. This work is brooding at times, filled with internal tensions and conflict. It has the feeling of the internal struggle that we go through with our own mortality, that relationship with time that we cannot escape and yet we have a feeling of want or need to understand, a desire to bargain with it to understand our lives and our desires better.
Daniel has a penchant for offering pieces with titles that are puns, and Present Tents is no exception. At first it seems to be an odd title, is it a play on the military phrase “present arms”? or maybe it’s a reference to camping equipment. And, then there is the play on the phrase “present tense”, in which case it could be a reference to current tension, or a reference to grammar. Based on the context of the work, I would think that it is a play on the grammatical construction, but then again, maybe Daniel has a fondness for camping gear that he hasn’t told me about.
The third track is the main focus of this release. It’s a reminder that sometimes things we think, or things that we are lead to believe can be false. On one level it’s an interesting struggle that artists go through actually working to build knowledge, and to find a perspective on that knowledge to be able to communicate it in another form. It’s almost a disaster to realize that the knowledge that has been built is not accurate, it’s false, and potentially destroys the work(s) one has built around them.
The final piece of this release is a another playful title from Daniel, Quatre Morceaux, can be a reference to this release (which contains four pieces), or it could be a reference to the work itself being comprised of four pieces. Either way it’s a very fitting way to close out Epiphany Counterfeit.<p>Tags:<a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/electronic">ELECTRONIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/classic">CLASSIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/symphonic">SYMPHONIC</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/chamber">CHAMBER</a>, <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/browse/release/tag/ensemble">ENSEMBLE</a>, </p><p>License: <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0">Creative Commons | by-nc-sa</a></p><p>m3u: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20309">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/m3u/20309</a><br />zip: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20309">http://sonicsquirrel.net/get/release/zip/20309</a></p><p>Release page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Epiphany+Counterfeit/20309">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/Epiphany+Counterfeit/20309</a><br />Label page: <a href="http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834">http://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/label/CerebralAudio/1834</a></p>The Aerologic Remixeshttp://sonicsquirrel.net/detail/release/The+Aerologic+Remixes/20308Sat, 19 Aug 2017 22:05:24 +0200<h5>released on toucan music by Marc Burt</h5><img src="http://media.sonicsquirrel.net/image/release/20308_RS_75.jpg" /><br /><p>released on toucan music by Marc Burt</p>Aerologic presents two energetic remixes of classic Marc Burt tracks in this progressive house EP. Marc's 2006 trance track Lies is first to receive the remix treatment, with a throbbing warped bass intro breaking down into lush pads, then launching into a bouncy stab pattern before launching back into the pads and a catchy synth melody. Aerologic's remix of Twenty Ten starts with shuffling hi-hat rhythms and filtered chords before launching into a heavily ducked version of the original riffs with epic sizzling synths and pumping club beats.

anfang august. Those, who haven’t been snatched away by the summerly wanderlust yet, can pack fast and should start out straight away. Otherwise the wailing is huge. ende september.
Since 2011 menkenkes’ unwieldy muse sorts the travel rhythms from left to right, abandons bass riffs and rustles full of promise in crinkled score maps, especially on Dresden-Neustadt based backyard stages, in coffee kitchens and second rate rehearsal room arrangements. The heard sounded always sophisticated but never too intellectual, at worst a little technical. But grabbing bags all needs to be trained.
And now finally the decision, the breakup: An album, recorded quasi overnight, when check lists, fault-finder and top producer sleep. Thus escaping forward, handbrake released and handluggage only: A bunch of broke, a fistfull of wire brush chords, a cup of dreamy speckles, the bass unleashed during walking, the drums dashed downstairs with rumble, outside in front of the door after all everything spontaneously and happily exaled with a deep sigh.
Based on this impulse „anfang august ende september” brings off a rare balancing act: polished-unwieldy, convincing bulkiness and yearning chord spots fire each other with many small surprises in the arrangement and places this record and its listeners in a natural-looking escape movement. Most impressive of the album is, how organic this ambivalence gathers speed and how obvious a look is deigned between the rough accelarations into the open heart, the deep blue sea or to the flashed by firmament. Not at least the songtitles breathe wanderlust themselves. For a potential soundtrack to it from menkenkes you not get any cheesy ethno kitsch, any hammock junk, any hostel slush or bubblegum-sunsets. Instead you save your honest soul on the clattering footboard of the last train southwards. And speeding at 200 kilometres per hour you stick your head out of the window together with the band. The smile which is written in your face by the airstream persists far beyond ende september.
