The production value is quite a bit better than his debut, but more importantly, Short Hand really stretches his artistic muscle here, the result sounding like a bookish Tom Waits shin dig. Well-read without being wordy, the album showcases some great folk-rock minus the well-worn folkster tropes. There is a definite "outsider art" atmosphere here, but more so than any fresh singer-songwriter in recent memory Short Hand's songs play like tuneful contemporary poems, real literature in other words. Rodzmatos is travel. It’s alien interval jumps and aggressive phrasing. It's instrumentation and techniques that while familiar, are at the same time unfamiliar. So while in the moment of "Until the Spirit Sensation Takes Hold" you might find yourself turned around, or bewildered, or frustrated with its uncharted territory, at the end of the day back in the comfort of your own home, you've loved every goddamned minute of it.

One of the release ideas is to make a unique illustration for every track. A half of the illustrations was made by the illustrator Anna Smolina, the other part is represented by separate works of absolutely different illustrators.
The image author's name is indicated on each illustration, as well as the name of composition, which inspired an artist to create an image.
There is a lot of ambient in 'One Different Compialtion' but the main thing we wanted to achieve is to get you interested in listening the compilation during the whole one hour and a half, eventually to make the music or its little part catch you as well as it does us.

The fourth part is done by Appalachian Falls.
"GrimGrimAntonym" is a 30 minute-work consisting of two live sessions with an array of distortion pedals and tape machines. Both works are full of haunted tones and distorted fragments. A massive wall of sound crackling in your ears and melting your brain, evolving to smoother soundscapes which are transformed back into a vulcanic blow out. My recommendation for this: Hear it as loud as possible.

Another 15 quiet ambient songs - mainly piano and baritone guitar - with 15 accompanying photographs.
How the music is created:
A 16 bar phrase is played.
That phrase is fed into a slowly decaying 16 bar loop, similar to the one used in Twilight Sessions.
That loop is fed into a slowly decaying 6 bar loop which repeates the first loop every 6 bars, so that soon, there are several layers of the original phrase that interact and create new themes and melodies.

Quello che da un parte rappresentano i testi biografici negli ultimi 3 anni della mia vita non escludono
interpretazioni soggettive universalmente valide e veritiere.
Se da una parte l'approccio audio-foto implica un'associazione prettamente "industrial" del genere ambient/dark qui espresso,
dall'altra si apre ad un coinvolgimento sinceramente più intimo e personificabile dell'ascoltatore.
È difatti nella risonanza di chi ascolta che rientra la scenografia completa del lavoro qui presentato:
uno scenario aperto al sillogismo Uomo-Cuore-Gigante che si nutre degli stessi sentimenti e percezioni del fruitore.
In ogni caso è l'esperienza ad essere protagonista, in chi si sposa, nello stesso spazio di frequenze,
al voler sentirsi più o meno gigante.
Noi, schiavi umani, siamo tutti Giganti. Ma in che modo? Prigionieri o poeti scrittori del nostro essere?
Sta a chi ascolta, più che leggerlo o visionarlo solamente, scoprirlo. E forse, non senza qualche sorpresa...
