After a short break in May we start this month with another wonderful release by Saito Koji.

Similar as his former RB-release "Guide" "Again" consists of eight tracks, each 3 minutes long. And also the music hits a similar tone. Droning, distorted and dense guitar tones are swirling around. Every piece contains a short melodic loop, presented in a very uncommon lenth. But the pieces are so compact and dense that you don’t need a 30-minute repeating loop.

I strongly recommend headphones for a proper listening experience. And then just hit the repeat button.

Mr. Dee needs no introduction! On numerous netlabels represented an output Netaudio legend with incredible innovation! Now also on DAST! And for those who have slept through the last 6 years: Mr. Dee is the musician, producer and the DJ from Ekaterinburg, Russia. One of the founders of Deep-X Recordings network label. He was dreaming to compose music since the childhood, but only in 2002 the dream came true. Long searches of the style and participation in various projects saved up small experience in music composing. There was a sense not to stop on the achieved. In the end of 2006 Dee got acquainted with DJ PX, nowadays known as Sergey PX. Later in 2007 they opened network label Deep-X Recordings and created joint minimal-techno project Schockierender. With the mutual efforts they had written some tracks and some remixes which were heard only by friends. It was a great push for the further creative work.

Budoka, based in Darmstadt near Frankfurt in Germany, is a passionate music freak, producer, DJ, musician, occasional event promoter, co-owner of the defunct Drum & Bass label Tilt-Recordings, founding member of the Phishmaol Crew of (g)olden days (together with his brother DJ Malice, forgotten genius Rayman, veteran MC Santana and DJ Gargamel aka Tyrell aka world famous Techno producer Jens Zimmermann among others) and proffessional sound engineer at a public broadcasting radio station. He has been active as a DJ in the German Drum & Bass scene since the mid/late 1990s and was playing drums and guitar in a good number of bands from Hardcore/Metal/Punk to Reggae and Live-Hip Hop. He has also been busy in the studio producing Drum & Bass (mostly, but not only, technoid and dancefloor oriented), the occasional Techno/House tune and beats for the Hip Hop project Oberton together with his band and crew mate Eli MC (in 2003 they put out a 12" EP with six tunes via their own one-off label "Traumsoldaten Records").
Over the years Budoka has released 10 Drum & Bass tunes on eight 12" vinyl singles and five tunes digitally via Tilt-Recordings (all available as free mp3 downloads today), another tune on the infamous German Neurofunk label Protogen and one on .shadybrain (the first commercial digital Drum & Bass label). He has also put out 13 free tunes on T-FREE and one each on Silbarueckenbeatz Entertainment and the Future Forum Sampler 2010 plus another 3 (inofficially) via Tilt-Recordings. Several more are scheduled on Silbarueckenbeatz Entertainment, Delta 9 and T3K Recordings.

A selection of live, improvised recordings from March, April and May 2012, performed on piano, synths, flute and clarinet plus a whole host of electronic wizardry.
My studio set up is constantly evolving and this album takes advantage of that.
This album includes two early experiment with playing live instruments (flute on 'Voices inside my head' and clarinet on 'Denner's travels in harsh static') through pitch pedals. You hear the note played plus a fifth (and sometimes and octave) above that note.
It is an interesting effect and one you will hear more of in the near future.
And yes, I am thinking of doing more 'colour' albums.

After their contribution to Album in A Day volume 4, we are proud to bring you the fantastic new single from Russian indie band Hospital.

In their own words -
A Russian rock band originally formed in September 2011.
Finding their own sound, Hospital is really eclectic now: their music is a mixed genre in such areas as classical brit-pop, shoegaze, power-pop and even post-punk.
In spite of that three out of four band members are from small far-east town Komsomolsk-on-Amure, the band now settled in Moscow.
The band started rehearsing their concert program since the end of 2011. In addition, their 1st single Time Will Tell came out in 2012.
