The VKRS Netlabel are pleased to present David Cheverton with his debut release on the netlabel.David currently resides in Kalulushi, Zambia, Africa, with influences covering a spectrum of JS Bach, Jean Michel Jarre to Marilyn Manson to name but a few.

His sound is described as Experimental Electroni-ca/Garage-Electro/Tekno/Filth built off anarchistic ideology and tends to have a "dark vibe".

He is also organizing a sound & art exhibition that will feature several (visual) artists (painters, a graffiti artist and a photographer) who will have their work displayed alongside a live performance by himself. The exhibition will be based/themed under his Electro Filth [Live Set]. This project will act as a farewell (on his behalf) to Zambia before settling in the UK.

An album of songs completely written & recorded in one day - Saturday, 18th August 2012.

On Saturday 18th August 2012, musicians from around the world each wrote and recorded a complete new song, from scratch in one day.
The next day, these songs were collected and put together as this album.
The day after that, the album was released as a free download!

What you have here is an electic mix of music from around the world, all created on the same day.
A lot of ambient, electronic and experimental music but also indie, post rock, dub and psychedelia.
There are pristine productions along side recordings with hiss and distortion but, all in all, over four and a half hours of fantastic new music.
And remember, none of the music on this album existed before Saturday 18th August 2012.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this project - music, art and support.

Enjoy, the album. Share it with your friends in the knowledge that we will be doing this all over again in a few months!

2'42" is an online series that reflects on the evolving nature of duration and form in this globalized new millenium.

A claim has been made that 2 minutes and 42 seconds is the perfect length for a pop song. This statement has been circling the internet, independently initiated by bloggers Joshua Allen and John Scalzi. It has been perpetuated by the likes of Boing Boing, Wired, NPR, and many more.

2'42" takes that statement to heart. Music written and/or recorded in cities around the world has been "corrected" to fit that "perfect pop song" length of 2:42. Each track is named after the city where its source material originated.

A single installment of 2'42" will be released online every week until further notice. They will be made available for free on sites like Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Sonic Squirrel, Internet Archives, Youtube, and Vimeo.

Our tenth album of deep and mysterious longform ambient music.
After last time's journey into Complex Silence, we go back to a completely generative music - a continuous, hour long piece split into seven parts.
A heavenly choir with sweeping, slow notes, lightly pulsing electronics and deep bass.

The music is generative:
each note is played in a long loop, the length of each loop if different for each note, so although the music may seem to vary only slightly, it never quite repeats itself.

The tracks on this album (and albums to follow) are named after Apollo near-Earth asteroids, objects whose orbits cross that of Earth.
There are many hundreds of known Apollo asteroids, though only a few dozen have been named officially, so I may run out of names from this list as quicly as I did with TNOs.

I have also been working on surround sound mixes of previous albums. These will become available over the next few months.

The new album of quiet piano music by Daniel Land, also known as the singer and songwriter of Manchester shoegazers Daniel Land and The Modern Painters.
He also create atmospheric ambient music under the name riverrun.
Daniel plays bass, along side Mark Peters and Ulrich Schnauss in Engineers and plays guitar in The Steals.
My Sad Captains is Daniel's first album of piano music, written between 1997 and 2012, and recorded over an 8 year period with help from Bing Satellites, Ian McGinn, and others.

Daniel Land is the front man and chief songwriter of the shoegaze inspired band Daniel Land & The Modern Painters, currently working on their third album, as well as playing guitar in The Steals and playing bass in Engineers alongside Mark Peters and Ulrich Schnauss.

Under his own name, he has released quiet piano music on BFW and on CD.

Daniel also creates dark, atmospheric ambient music uncer the name riverrun.

'remix, repeat' is an ep where original rock songs have been transformed into unrecognisable ambient/noise drones. These remixes come from the same sessions that gave birth to Thuuooom's second full-length, 'Uinua', and continue his ambient explorations into deep aural space. This record closes the fourth creative cycle of Thuoom, the so-called spring cycle, which also gave birth to above mentioned 'Uinua' as well as 're:EP'.

Focusing on the creation of algorithmic and stochastic processes, utilizing the results for both fixed and real-time composition and improvisation, Jerod Sommerfeldt’s music explores digital audio artifacts and the destruction of technology, resulting in work that questions the dichotomy between the intended and unintentional. He is currently teaching coursework in computer music at the University of Dayton and music theory and counterpoint at Miami University.

Behind the Concept

"I have and always will be a dreamer which is maybe why every once in a while I wake up after a remarkable one and I actually remember it. The dream that inspired this piece occurred in the waking hours of 30th July 2012 and made me realise it was a story I'd been writing, through my more downtempo tracks, for many months. So it was just a case of picking up the pieces, putting them together in the right order and filling in a few missing gaps (as well as putting it into a context, verbally).
Dreams don't have to make sense but sometimes they're so real they nearly do...this was one of those dreams (with a few temporal anomalies to gloss over).
The album, conceptually telling Christina Mancini's story and hence the essence of the dream, is available as separate tracks or as a mixed version for free download."
