Podalida is a place which never existed.
This atlantic island was discovered by two venetian brothers, Nicoló and Antonio Zeno in the other half of the 14th century during their voyages to the northern regions of Europe. Assume that the Venetians were told a lot they believed and that the chart is both an image and an imagination, believable or not. In 1998 the Swedish producer Eric M Nilsson made the film "The Man From Podalida" about language and identity. The character, Pierre, talks a non existing language, Podalidian. Julia Kristeva, in her book "Etrangers à nous-mêmes" ( Strangers For Ourselves) pointed out the outcast´s roll i sociality, the roll of the stranger as a person creating identity for the others.
Podalida still exists somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.
In spring 1945, my young biological father died in a submarine in the North Atlantic region, targeted by an allied torpedo, perhaps near the Podalidian coast. This project is a reconstruction of the imaginary identity of Podalida.

Surrealfreak Netlabel

Spanish Netlabel founded in the 2005 by Stikleader (aka Laptop Boy and Jean Luc Picard). His journey began in a small club of his hometown in the year 93. Years later he became resident DJ at Contrastes sound Club where he remained 10 years. He began taking part in diverse festivals like F.A.M.A and Panorama.
Throughout these years he had pleasure of working with::angel molina,marco carola,surgeon,howie b,Derrick May, Gayle San,paco osuna,iñigo oruezabal, Christian Smith,wavesond,eduardo de la calle,monica osmo,javi union,nuria guia,Robert Lamart,jl magoya,Ben Long…
With all this musical baggage he decided to stop his study and started producing music and prepare live performances that he realized in different clubs and festivals of the area. Thanks to the diffusion that Internet offers he created the netlabel Surrelafreak being one of the first Spanish netlabels and that at present is provided with more than 30 released references of national and international artists.

After his wonderful release "Sending You Going" under the "The Accidental Psaltery"-moniker, "Waves" is Rick Tarquinio's second contribution to the Resting Bell-catalogue. This new EP contains two tracks with a complete duration of 25 minutes.

The pieces for "Waves" contain minimal source material arranged accidentally. Wave 1, dedicated to John Cage, uses the sequence of notes in his last name played in different octaves and rhythms on the bowed psaltery. Wave 2 contains six ascending triads – CFG, GCD, BbCF, FBbC, GCBb & DGC – played on alto melodica. These phrases, interspersed with varying amounts of silence, were randomly looped in AudioMulch and left to interact and phase until Rick felt each piece had run its course. Other than fades and volume, no editing was done. Processing consisted of granular synthesis, delay and reverb.

His inspiration for these pieces came from watching waves and wanting to evoke something similar musically.

Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky. With a visual apparent magnitude of −1.46, it is almost twice as bright as Canopus, the next brightest star. The name "Sirius" is derived from the Ancient Greek: Σείριος Seirios ("glowing" or "scorcher"). The star has the Bayer designation Alpha Canis Majoris (α CMa). What the naked eye perceives as a single star is actually a binary star system, consisting of a white main sequence star of spectral type A1V, termed Sirius A, and a faint white dwarf companion of spectral type DA2, called Sirius B. The distance separating Sirius A from its companion varies between 8.1 and 31.5 AU.

Sirius appears bright because of both its intrinsic luminosity and its proximity to Earth. At a distance of 2.6 parsecs (8.6 ly), as determined by the Hipparcos astrometry satellite, the Sirius system is one of Earth's near neighbors; for Northern-hemisphere observers between 30 degrees and 73 degrees of latitude (including almost all of Europe and North America), it is the closest star (after the Sun) that can be seen with a naked eye. Sirius is gradually moving closer to the Solar System, so it will slightly increase in brightness over the next 60,000 years. After that time its distance will begin to recede, but it will continue to be the brightest star in the Earth's sky for the next 210,000 years.

Sirius A is about twice as massive as the Sun and has an absolute visual magnitude of 1.42. It is 25 times more luminous than the Sun but has a significantly lower luminosity than other bright stars such as Canopus or Rigel. The system is between 200 and 300 million years old. It was originally composed of two bright bluish stars. The more massive of these, Sirius B, consumed its resources and became a red giant before shedding its outer layers and collapsing into its current state as a white dwarf around 120 million years ago.

Sirius is also known colloquially as the "Dog Star", reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (Greater Dog). The heliacal rising of Sirius marked the flooding of the Nile in Ancient Egypt and the "dog days" of summer for the ancient Greeks, while to the Polynesians it marked winter and was an important star for navigation around the Pacific Ocean.

Time To Express

Recurring Crazy-Language artist, prolific producer and label owner of Plataforma-LTW, Madrid based Rec_Overflow returns with his LP "Unemployed": a sumptuous melancholic dance record, blending hip-hop with modern glitch aesthetics, dropping at any given instance the classic dubstep LFO, bringing a fresh chiaroscuro perspective to what could’ve become a familiar album.
The attention to detail should keep the braindance freaks pleased but it is a surprisingly self-constrained record on this aspect, to a degree where you could play these on a dance floor and still be pleased on a whole different level. It’s all classical Rec_Overflow style with a distinct evolution of his ideas and genres he approaches. But there are still surprises at hand: singer Norbert Kristof was hijacked to participate on five of these songs, to see his voice robotized, pitched and manipulated on all sorts of sonic mutilation, to reaffirm the ‘voice’ of this album. A pleasant surprise without being too intrusive. Fans of Crazy-Language and of Rec_Overflow’s sound may have found another little classic to their discography. (F.G.)

This work work consists of three three-way partinioned (or three raised to the power of three) movements. Each movement is consisting of several basic operations - isolation (corresponding to number 1), entanglement (to number 2) and dispersion (corresponding to many, mass or infinite). In phenomenological terms, all of three could be viewed as - solitude, love and enthusiasm. All of these operators (and metaphors) work on each other, intersect, and so may reinforce, skew or terminate one another.

The Chain is a continuing collection of songs following on from one another.

A name was chosen at random from the list of musicians who wanted the take part. That musician (Spooky Child) had three weeks to write and record a completely new song.
The first song submitted was be passed along to the second musician who had three weeks to create a second song inspired by or using parts of the first song.
The second song was passed along to the third musician who created a third song inspired by or using parts of the second song.
And so on...

The only people to hear each song will be the person who creates it, the next person in the chain and 'the team' here at BFW recordings. To that end, we only publish a finished song once three more songs are complete - hence, now that 13 songs are finally complete, we are releasing the first 10 as The Chain volume 1.

The Chain is an ongoing project and we are still looking for musicians who can and want to take part. If you want to take part or have any questions, send us a message at bfwrecordings@gmail.com. Please mark your email 'The Chain' so we know you want to be involved.
