A continuous, 53 minute long piece split into seven parts.
The music is generative:
each note is played in a long loop, the length of each loop if different for each note, so although the music may seem to vary only slightly, it never quite repeats itself.
The tracks on this album (and albums to follow) are named after Apollo near-Earth asteroids, objects whose orbits cross that of Earth.
There are many hundreds of known Apollo asteroids, though only a few dozen have been named officially, so I may run out of names from this list as quickly as I did with TNOs.
I have also been working on surround sound mixes of previous albums. Collin's new RB-release "Score to a Quotidian Experience" is again a single track with a duration of 67 minutes. Quiet, Slow, and Distant, this piece is intended as an everyday-life soundtrack. It is the hope that the piece will be played during normal activities: cooking, reading, driving, sleeping, even listening to other music or watching TV. "Forget The Theory" features two arrangements and five original pieces written by Kevin Higgins for his group Nature - a quartet with voice, electric guitar, electric bass and drums. The material was honed in a dozen live performances, then recorded over two days in spring 2012. The result is an album of dark grooves, mixing techno, funk and dubstep with contemporary jazz.
In the foreground, ethereal vocals and frenzied guitar carry on an improvised dialogue. "Forget The Theory" captures the energy of their alternating conflict and cooperation. Behind them there's tension of another kind, as club-inspired drum beats threaten to melt into jazz cross-rhythms.
This album was built off basslines: some abstract and symmetrically structured, some just funky. Either way, every tune was designed to make you nod your head. Enjoy the bouncy pulse and powerful perfomances of a young band playing with passion.

The more precise a contrast is, the more clearly the particular qualities differ from each other. A colour may be appealing for itself, but not until the interaction with or, better, in opposition to other colours. That’s how its real charisma becomes evident. The result of this contention is called composition. Its success depends on the way the components concur. Or simply said: friction generates heat.
So, with being creative it’s advisable to use force, to risk confronting elements with each other. But always remembering that this could contain the possibility to destroy everything. The risk factor marks the salt in the soup, like in the fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, where the poisoned apple is the decisive weight between Good or Bad.
Dealing with their music Tending to Huey are prone to violence. Under the cover of Pop they let collide most various genres, sounds and moods. There are the beautiful and the ugly, the glowing and the dark, the homogeneous and the coarse. The catchy and the bulky. And all that titled: Poison Apple. The poisoned apple is the symbol of this tightrope walk between the extremes and of the question, in whose favour this trial of strength will turn out.
Tending to Huey are excellent songwriters, who do not shy away from dealing wastefully with earworm-melodies. They realize it with a versatile and often surprising selection of instruments, from the intimate lofi-bonfire western-guitar, with the accomplished use of sampling and synthesizers to opulent string and brass arrangements. In addition to that there are these direct, unaffected vocals. Furthermore the songs impress rhythmically with partly quite unconventional beats, which however preserve the groove.
Poison Apple shows up with ease but is, at the same time, very complex in its design. It’s a thrilling album right from the start into which you can dive deeply – a fabulous and bravely composed listening-adventure. Not just pure Pop!
The Album is available on CD and it comes in a very nice digipak with an extensive booklet.
Apple Core EP
Another part of this release is the Apple Core EP. In the truest sense of the word it’s the quintessence of Poison Apple. It concentrates the album in form of 5 well picked songs. Local talent Lee Fraged & Double Trouble make up for the first two tracks of the compilation with two deep house tracks: Say it with your own words with sexy vocals on top of its driving bassline and percussion and an alternate version of Fetish originally found in the very first This Side Up release. Swap sides, moving up north, to find two tracks, each one with its own distinct dub techno sound: Liquid Level's Ultra is a mover, sweeping albeit deep, while Dominique Jacquinet rides again on Boulevard Road for a sound update of what was once found on his Floating EP.

Layered electronics, manic voices and saxophones that defy much description.
The mini-album by the Belarusian electronic musician Vladislav Buben is dedicated to his Swedish friend Margarethe Műntzing-Kuhn. Vladislav says about Margarethe: “She is the person who with her love and positive attitude to life has influenced me and many others creating a different look at the world around us”.
The album comes out at the time when diplomatic relations between Sweden and Belarus are interrupted. Political games, sometimes leading to negative results sooner or later come to an end. Meanwhile, common people remain friends and preserve their good relations. Sadly enough, but all the systems separate people and even call for hatred!
The style of the album can be defined as POST ELECTRONIC MUSIC. The tracks included in the mini-album are filled with improvisational moments devoid of static rhythmic structures typical of electronics. Especially for the project Vladislav has recorded improvisational pieces of saxophone simulated by electronic synthesizer, as well as his own vocal improvisation. The album has a certain degree of spontaneity and is imbued with the spirit of free expression. Miguel Carvalhais and Pedro Tudela are one of the historic collaborations of the Lusitania electronica, which in recent years has been experiencing a particularly prolific season in terms of releases and new projects. The fruitful research laboratory they have established a few years ago, the Crónica Electrónica label, has become one of the liveliest corners of experimentation in the contemporary digital music scene.
Galaverna is therefore delighted to host, for the third release of its catalog, the contribution of the two sound artists from Porto. Following a line of conceptual exploration in post-digital sound proposed by the label run by Enrico Coniglio and Leandro Pisano, Carvalhais and Tudela decided to venture into a long suite of thirty-two minutes, based on atmospheres and resonances captured during an artist residency at the São Pedro do Sul mountains, in center Portugal, in May 2011.
The villagers of Fujaco, the surroundings and the natural environment are the focus of a series of field recordings wich are distorted, dirtied, elongated, smoothed in a kaleidoscope of mixed elements, disturbed as if they were leaked from the unreachable frequencies of a shortwave radio.

“Vozes de Magaio” a few months after the recordings, is in some ways
the continuation of a journey of exploration of sound spaces, already
started in previous albums like “Music for Empty Spaces”: in balance
between surrealism and hallucinatory atmosphere, “89″ offers a short
and intense glimpse of a ghostly landscape where the rewriting of
environmental sample becomes a melange of shapes, effects and acoustic illusions playing on different levels. As in a refined and charming

At the second official release, Galaverna’ catalogue is enriched by the contribution from Japanese sound designer Yasuhiro Morinaga, a former pupil of Michel Chion and so far active in the musique concréte. The work presents a little pastiche of three episodes based on the field-recordings made in Italy and Northern Ireland throughout 2010 and 2011.
The opening track, For “La Donnaccia“, is a tribute to a little gem of neo-realism, the eponymous film directed by Silvio Siano, which tells of the hard life, the superstitions and rituals of the small community of Cairano, a village perched on a rock as suspended in the air, in the abstract and distant lands of Irpinia. Parade tells of Morinaga’s journey in the popular music of Celtic tradition in the area of Londonderry: on the captured concrete sounds seems to fall a dark blanket, like a deserted heath swept by a wind full with fog. The last track, Ear of Dionysius, is dedicated to a sound experience had by the author in the famous cave known as the Orecchio di Dionisio in Siracusa, on the occasion of a short artist residency with Domenico Sciajno: the heavy resonances of the track incipit are superimposed by a gradually increasing rhythm that leads to a surprising techno oriented ending-loop.

“Inner sky” by Gianluca Favaron inaugurates the activities of Galaverna, a digital platform for audio and video content distribution, born by the partnership between Enrico Coniglio, Venetian musician, and Leandro Pisano, curator and journalist from Irpinia.
On the occasion of its inauguration, Galaverna opens the doors to the elegant and sophisticated electroacoustic music of Gianluca Favaron, who after capturing the alienating atmosphere of the last days of last year in a noisy, sinister and “machinic” Paris, he has reworked the collected materials in a mixture of rare poignancy, made of improvisation, field recordings, analogue scores and instrumental echoes. Favaron plunges into dissonant territories using a kind of miniaturist approach, voted to imperceptible changes and to slow state transitions: drones, sounds stripped to the bone and scattered instrumental fragments are mixed in an atonal distillation reminiscent of the evolution of some production made in Metamkine or less abstract in Minamo.
Ambient? Electroacoustic d’essai? Drone? For this album, Thuoom tried to reinvent himself, either by using sounds or processes he hadn't used before. As result, the album has the signature dream-like Thuoom sound in its core but also spirals into uncharted territories and emotional abstract soundscapes. Even though the songs have been crafted basically in two relatively short periods of one month and one week, respectively, the process also included a maturing period of two and a half years. In the end, we have what is most likely the most mature output by Thuoom so far.
