In classical mechanics, impulse (symbolized by J or Imp) is the change in linear momentum of a body. It may be defined or calculated as the product of the average force multiplied by the time over which the force is exerted. Impulse is a vector quantity since it is the result of integrating force, a vector quantity, over time. The SI unit of impulse is the newton second (N·s) or, in base units, the kilogram meter per second (kg·m/s).

A resultant force causes acceleration and a change in the velocity of the body for as long as it acts. A resultant force applied over a longer time therefore produces a bigger change in linear momentum than the same force applied briefly: the change in momentum is equal to the product of the average force and duration. Conversely, a small force applied for a long time produces the same change in momentum—the same impulse—as a larger force applied briefly.

Continuing to evade musical expectations, Alan Fux returns from Oompah-Loompah Land for this 2014 HANSEL release of alternative/digital hardcore?/industrial music. "We Refuse To Exist", "Throw It Away", "Seek" have that definitive HANSEL sound, with thick beats, orchestral glitch samples and emotionally charged (sometimes enraged) vocals. Throwing you for a loop between these obvious 'hits' are some of the projects' most experimental ventures into creepy dark electronic instrumentals which serve as an atmospheric detour to the feast of 30+ tracks. It's been 5+ years since the last real release and we are happy to continue on into the 2010's with HANSEL as a key player in the D-TRASH Roster.

This is a free download of D-Trash Records. Although the album is a free download, we suggest a $6.66 (or your choice!) donation for this 30+ track collection that comes with full CD artwork [make your own disc from this!], that took Al HANSEL five years to bring to us. The new album of live ambient music performed by Bing Satellites during December 2013.

The album is also available now on gatefold CD from bingsatellites.bigcartel.com

The music is played into a long, slowly decaying loop.

These loops are quite long (often around 90 seconds or more) and with very little rhythm to speak of, it is difficult to know precisely where I am in the loop, so I can add notes and sounds where I see fit, but can never know exactly what I am adding these notes to. Therefore, it must be said that although I am the one making these sounds and creating this music, much of it is down to serendipity.

The album also includes more experiments with layers of live piano loops of different lengths.

They make a breakthrough and are able to link their minds and communicate and share their memories via a telepathic link. However their own are not the only voices they hear. Back in April 2012 Yarn Audio kicked off with the stripped-down “Locked“ EP by South African drum-machine lunatic, Zimbra Sound. A few months later we followed up with American producer Balloon Fight's experimental “Ham. No Mayo“ EP. Five exclusive mixes and two releases later, as per Yarn's label-mission, we proudly present the freshest remixes of our first two EPs.

The first remix comes from upcoming British bass-producer Hutyluty, a recent addition on the underground label Loft Party. Hutyluty has re-worked Zimbra Sound’s “Sport For All“ into a percussive, airy bass-tool. Next comes fellow Brit Horner, who’s remix of Zimbra Sound’s “Locked“ takes down the tempo and intensity of the original and brings hypnotic sub-bass and deconstructed chords and vocals to the mix. Finally, American producer, multi-instrumentalist and Audio Esperanto-signing DJSur deals with Balloon Fight’s “Ham. No Mayo“. His spaced-out, house-infused version transforms Yarn’s weirdest EP to date into an intoxicating club smasher.

And that's not all!! We are still looking for musicians and artists to take part in this ongoing project.

The Chain is a continuing collection of songs following on from one another.
In the beginning...
a name was chosen at random from the list of musicians who wanted the take part.
That musician had three weeks to write and record a completely new song.
The first song submitted was be passed along to the second musician who had three weeks to create a second song inspired by or using parts of the first song.
The second song was passed along to the third musician who created a third song inspired by or using parts of the second song.
And so on...
The only people to hear each song will be the person who creates it, the next person in the chain and 'the team' here at BFW recordings. To that end, we only publish a finished song once three more songs are complete - hence, now that 23 songs are finally complete, we are releasing the second 10 as The Chain volume two.

It's that time of year again. Nights are growing darker.
There's a chill in the air and turkeys and their vegetarian equivalents are starting to get nervous.
Earlier this year, we put a call out for submissions of new festive and wintery music of any genre for this, our fourth BFW Christmas Album.
The response has been phenomenal - 36 songs by artists around the world, and a nice mix of styles.

"Na realidade Shoegaze não quer dizer nada, sendo apenas mais um facilitismo ao abrigo do qual se podem incluir várias espécies de grupos diferentes, que em comum tenham uma parede de distorção convidativa a momentos de introspecção.
Durante um período dos anos 80 e 90, assistiu-se a uma proliferação de bandas de Indie-Rock onde também poderiam caber milhares de coisas diferentes, mas que sem dúvida tiveram em comum não só o momento específico mas também a especificidade associada ao seu som. Essa marca é transportada por vários grupos até aos dias de hoje, e ainda bem porque há legados que devem prevalecer. Várias dessas bandas tinham sem dúvida afinidades quer com o Shoegaze, quer com o seu parente próximo, a Dream Pop. Mas o lugar dos rótulos é nas embalagens e o que interessa realmente é o que a música transmite, independentemente do que se escreve ou diz sobre ela.
Uma banda chamada Fire To The Stars merece pelo menos uma audição atenta, quanto mais não seja para confirmar se a música cumpre aquilo que o nome parece prometer. As estrelas quando ardem tendem a fazê-lo de forma lenta, ainda que poderosa, numa espécie de momento de agressividade melancólica.
Este single é composto por dois temas, e se por um lado “Keep You Safe” ergue uma barreira uterina de noise entre o ouvinte e o mundo, já “Wholesale Slaughter” proporciona uma contemplação nostálgica desse mesmo mundo, do qual nos encontramos alheados via experiência musical. Simultaneamente belo e fantasmagórico, como a pop deveria ser, esta edição não destoaria ao lado duns Swervedriver ou duns Ride.
Façam favor de olhar para os sapatos e sonhar um pouco."

Mastermind is a twenty-minute ep by Claudio Quartarone, a renowned Sicilian guitarist whose works spans from jazz to classical to experimental music. It is possible to listen to some of his musical directions in the six tracks which make up this eclectic release, of which all at Sucu Music are proud.

“Back to the Nature” opens with meditative sounds and echoing guitar that works as an intro to the somewhat submarine quality of the track. When the drums kick in we are in post rock field and the electric guitar melody is dramatic as it could be in a soundtrack to a film.
The title track is a triumph of echoes and sound effects. Again, the rhythm track gives the number a danceable nature, in a beautiful contrast with the openness of the echoes and looping that swirl and sweep in the background.
“Modal Age” fades in from a distant horizon. The sound is very ambient, almost reminiscent of cosmic music, so are the modulation and the harmonic changes, not so distant from some things a lover of Steve Hillage might be acquainted with. But then percussion steps in, and everything changes. The track evolves into a sort of cyber-techno for faraway space stations.
“Sasha” presents a series of modulated sounds supported by straight rhythm on which a jazzy guitar glides and slides beautifully. The mood of the track becomes even more electronic as it approaches its end in a crescendo of modulated sounds that make you think of alien, robot conversation.
“Strange in Town” opens with phased sounds and distant chords which hover in the air, aided by noisy blasts of starships taking off and landing. The track is so spacey and cosmic that you can almost picture a nebula in front of you. Then a moment of peace, the sunrise in an alien place full of beauty and serenity. Clusters of gentle notes and laid back mood in the second part of this track, until the by-now familiar sounds and blasts announce us the starship is ready to take off again and sail until the end of the track, in search of the new, nth planet do explore.
“Swell” is a galloping track where acoustic guitar chords are counterpointed by harmonics and some background electronic. Just imagine a train rolling across a desert plain. Then, all of a sudden, percussion steps it and the mood of the track changes completely. The straight bass drum gives the music a sort of danceable feel which harmonises with the guitar, which keeps on playing chord melodies until the end.

What better way to start a web sound lab "Elephant Bass", where the passion and love for the good vibes is the only constant assured, with a selection of the many songs received in recent months by members of the homonymous group on facebook . The result that comes out are 2 volumes with a thin imaginary dividing line between stepper and electro dub sounds that are directed to explore experimental music.

The first compilation of dub-o-phonic is a musical journey to some unknown areas of dub music. Compiled by Dub Thomas, “Explorations in Dub” tries to find the hidden elements of dub music in musical genres, where under normal circumstances no dub is existent. This release might not comply with the “conventional” dub reggae as we know it. Being the tenth release of the label, Dub Thomas selects tracks with a strong experimental musical vibe, staying truthful to the future sound of the label.

The compilation includes seventeen tracks from artists scattered in the various corners of the globe, from Cyprus to the French West Indies: Daidalos One (CY), SXtheMadArtist (CY), Ras Robin Dennis (CY), Dub-I (RUS), Dub Riots (GR), Green Glow (MEX), Hernibernie (BEL), Knoto (JP), Mr Mefistou (PR), Negro Pirana (MEX), Rakoon (FR), Red Barrio (ES), Roots Dubbing Project (BRA), The Dubbstyle (ARG), Twixymillia (FWI) and Dub Across Borders (DEN).

Included in this compilation is Dub-I’s “Rididub Master” in a new extended version, serving not only as a musical flashback to our first release, but also as a starting point for the dubs to follow, while the jazz/ambient tracks of Hernibernie and SXtheMadArtist (the cover art designer of the release) are perhaps at the highest innovation point. Knoto manages to strip a famous reggae song down to its basic beat elements keeping the melody as a sweet buzz in your head. Daidalos One offers an atmospheric intermission, Ras Robbin Denis fuses an ethnic/ambient feel, Dub Across Borders blips and clicks, Negro Pirana dubs the blues, Mr Mefistou builds up slowly a dubbed step, Green Glow steps it up, Twixymillia rewinds it, while Dub Riots, Roots Dubbing Project, The Dubbstyle, Rakoon and Red Barrio transform irie melodies into experimental dubscapes.

The first release of the young Belarusian netlabel - SKW. Compilation is dedicated to the ridiculous character Squidward Quincy Tentacles from the Nickelodeon animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. Belarusian artists and musicians from all over the world (USA, China, Finland, Germany) participated in this project. We collected 17 tracks, some of which are very well-known names: Mesak, dkstr, Buben, Fløøød and others. As planned, the compilation has a very diverse: there are skweee, experimental electronics, field recordings, ambient etc.

We think techno is back on Gargan Records with this release. On his last few releases, "Tky" produced mostly the deeper sounds. Now on the latest release "Vocation" he goes in towards to the stable gait. Dominant rhythms, soft synthesizer pads and numerous changes of mood create the perfect mix of techno beats and extravagant sound-collages.
