Peça concebida propositadamente para radiodifusão n’O Arranca Corações.

Este trabalho pretende agarrar o ouvinte para um desafio simples que poderá realizar a partir dum qualquer ponto sonoro exposto; conseguir o auditor desenvolver uma superconsciência auditiva que o leve a emigrar para fora do tempo/espaço usando como meio para tal fim a multiplicidade das formas auditivas expressas. Quanto mais se deixar absorver por elas mais depressa apreende o fluxo e o refluxo das ondas sonoras em presença, assim como a unidade intrínseca destas no todo consciente (superconsciente), a isto chama-se Boiar. Arte nobre hoje em dia quase esquecida e pouco praticada.

This work intends to grab the listener for a simple challenge that (s)he will be able to carry out from any exposed sound point; getting the listener to develop a superconsciousness hearing (awareness) that will lead her/him to emigrate out of time/space, using as a means to this end the multiplicity of hearing expressed forms. The more we let ourselves be absorbed by them the quicker we'll apprehend the flow and reflow of the existing sound waves, as well as their intrinsic unity in the conscious whole, this is called Boiar, (Boiar is not "to Float"; Boiar is much more than simply floating). Noble art nearly forgotten today and rarely practiced.

João Ricardo - Synthesizers, guitar, battery, laptop and fx (i.e. small toys difficult to specify);
João Santos - Acoustic bass, electric bass, traps, concertina, hornpipe, flute synthesized, laptop and fx;
José Soares - Keyboards, synthesizers, guitars, battery, cello, anything at hand, laptop and fx;
Paulo Santos - Voice, acoustic and electric guitar, keys, trumpet, percussion, laptop on/off.

The thirteenth volume of Twilight Sessions by BFW founder Bing Satellites.
Available on double CD and download.

This album is a selection of live, improvised recordings.

Each piece starts as a blank canvas.
I play a few notes into a long, slowly decaying loop (or loops) and see where the music takes me.

This is a very inspiring and liberating way to create music - I can express myself in ways I never could with words or traditionally written pieces of music.
I hope you enjoy it too.

The cover features a large emerald moth with landed in my bathroom one warm evening.
They are quite common, although they don't usually stand out so much from their surroundings.

Celebrating the first birthday of our netlabel, we are giving to everybody the free EP “Rudie Dubplates” with 5 tracks of wall-shaking basslines, irie sax and warrior style beats. This is our way to say "thank you for your massive support during this 1st year of our existence". Ruff and tuff!

This is the first part of a special double release. The second part will be released two days later on Saturday the 26th of July, so watch this space!

Aerologic reworks Excelsior's euro-trance track Why Not in this EP release. The EDM remake keeps the vibe of the original track, combining uplifting melodies with pizzicato arpeggios while introducing harder, contemporary synth sounds and anthemic supersaw riffs. The piano mix takes elements from both the original version and the 2004 JMD remix, building up the track with sizzling electro bass and crisp house beats for 2 minutes before a breakdown introduces piano chords and meaty synth stabs.

Gate One is the first musical offering by Francesco Palermo, aka TNKS, and everybody here at Sucu Music is very proud of and happy for releasing such a beautiful work as this.

The nightly, highly metropolitan, electronic nature of this music meets the manipulations and visions by Purple Mountain Peal’s Gaetano Fontanazza and Tony Colina, whose intervention gives the music further colours and depth.

‘Gate One’ kicks off with ‘Theatrical’, a track based on a light, persistent rhythm track supplied by electronic percussion and bass on which an icy-delivered, spoken story of dislocation and insanity is told. Nervous, atonal, stabs of guitar are replaced by Gaetano Fontanazza’s trademark soundscapes and deep-space notes, which grace the breaks in the track and build momentum until the end of the track, which dissolves into space after Tony Colina’s final revelation: ‘I’m insane.’

The second track is ‘Nocturne.’ Again, the beat is danceable, driven by drums and distorted bass. Layers of spacey guitar and background keyboards create a sort of System 7-like atmosphere in which strange phone conversations can be heard. Conversation which speak of loss and resentment. The beat resumes, mercilessly, and guitars howl in the distance. Another break, and then the trippy coda starts, graced by classical keyboards and a tune that revolves in the air.

‘Office Automation’ opens with a Japanese voice and Fontanazza’s psyche, trippy guitar (which master Hillage would appreciate, no doubt). The beat mounts in the background and slowly comes up to the front, so that the dance can begin. Ominous keyboards loom in the distance, and the rhythm really conveys the idea expressed by the title, of a place where everything and everyone is automated to the point of losing any trace of humanity. Some breaks, and then the beat recedes for a while. The time has come now to create a sort of musical Laputa floating high in the sky and close the track on a gentler note.

The cryptically-named ‘Elephant’ is a mid-tempo affair (maybe in reverence to the pace of said animal) where female voices rebound and ricochet from each angles and a quiet sequence of notes in a minor mood maps the distance. Time for some rapping, then, strange as it might sound. Just a flash, then we are again in the middle of the night, empty streets, orange lights and a suburban tension that some distorted guitar chords help trace. A very metropolitan, post punk, kind of track with echoes of New Order or ever The Cure, all differences considered.

‘Introspective’ is a tell-tale title. The mood of the track is very … well, introspective, the rhythm quirky but not self-imposing. Voices of children playing in the background (maybe nothing but memories in our minds) and sounds suspended in mid air. And as you listen, you understand all of this could happen in a sort of playground of the dead, where only ghosts play and have a good time.

‘Sinapsi’ starts with keyboards rolling and looping.
The bass and very light percussion step in and again the atmosphere is foggy and urban. A sunset over depots and closed factories, maybe. Asphalt wet by rain and shadows jutting out of lanes and bystreets. A lonely man walks, hidden in his coat, staring at the land before his feet, unaware of the cars and life zooming by. A quietly desperate / desperately quiet journey in the night.

The final track of the album, ‘Inside Winter’, is very ambient. Jazzy piano and background noises (actually children playing table football) melt with long-sustained, airy guitar notes. No rhythm here, no danceability, because we need time to lay back and think of what it is all about even in the most crowded of cities. In winter, preferably.

Garage-punk band from Moscow. Founded in 2007. The idea was just to play raw punk and rock-n-roll as we all heard on New York Dolls early demos. Andrey worked in music mag and played bass in friendly heavy metal band. And suddenly understood - he's got something to say. Each song is a true story about streets, girls, drugs and so on. Mess. played lots of gigs in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Kyiv, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod. Some of gigs they can hardly remember. In 2010 the band recorded 1-st LP 'Mess' and went on tour. After long pause they returned to the scene with saxophonist and new songs. LP 'Lucky One' was recorded at exellent 'Music street studio', which was later - destroyed by city government.

Marc Burt's track Ethereal is revisited with three new remixes in this Toucan Music release. Aerologic's upfront mix adds trance riffs with plenty of reverb, leading into the trademark squelchy acid riff and uplifting pads from the original. The progressive mix takes the acid riff and builds it into a complete track with plenty of warped filter action, pausing only in the middle to add some electro chords. Blastculture's steampunk remix takes snippets of the bassline and acid riff, warping them with his trademark progressive house sound to create a funky dancefloor groove.

Onde e sinergie. E se penso a spiagge danzanti e calde notti è perché non tolgo dal mio ipod l'esordio della misteriosa Nowhere Fast con il suo Louder EP prodotto da Sostanze Records. È un lavoro completo, da chi entra nella musica elettronica in punta di piedi, scoprendola e innamorandosene fino a conquistarla e dominarla in poco tempo. E così nasce Louder, cocktail da spiaggia,1/3 chillwave 1/3 synthpop 1/3 dreampop. Concentrarsi sulla componente synth è conoscere intensamente Nowhere Fast, quasi partecipando alla nascita di Louder. Sentiremo parlar di lei e questo piu che un augurio, è la ferma convinzione della net-label. La base è il suo background , il futuro è in evoluzione. Whenever I'm down, I call one of my friend.

Waves and synergies. And if I think ‘bout dancing seasides and hot nites is ‘cause I can’t switch off from my i-pod the debut of the mysterious Nowhere Fast with her Louder EP produced by Sostanze Records. It’s a full piece of work, enterin’ into the electronic music scene on tiptoe, dominating it very fastly. And so Louder takes shape, a beach cocktail, 1/3 chillwave, 1/3 synthpop and 1/3 dreampop. Focusing on the synth component is a way to deeply meet Nowhere Fast, almost partecipating to the born of Louder. There will be a great talk ‘bout her, and this more than a greeting is a firm belief of the net-label. Her core is the underground, future is in evolution. Whenever I'm down, I call one of my friend.
