These tiny little chips, Application-Specific Integrated Circuits, that ASIC lends his name from can be understood as miniature city maps. Listening to ASIC's music, one enters urban canyons called Bass, Beat, Poststep, Glo-Fi and Techno.

ASIC constantly expands the borders of his setup, understanding it as an open instrument. He modulates and molders his sounds, beat structures and athmospheric figures endlessly. Thus, ASIC’s musical journey can hardly be anticipated.

ASIC creates his music out of the moment, the tracks of the TAPA and PENTAPRISM EPs are rooted in live sessions. ASIC moves through soft, harsh or wild city scapes that are ever evolving, temptingly rough and delicate at the same time. A night time walk with this city’s soundtrack is a journey full of surprises and twists. While skyline is of mere architectural beauty, the surfaces are full of mechanical decay and organic growth. Moody sounds can be lurking behind every corner.

Coming from his year-long performing routine, ASIC has recorded two EPs that are being released via Hula Honeys and sub_perversion simultaneously. While the TAPA EP on subper.ch explores the deeper Poststep influences, the PENTAPRISM EP on Hula Honeys opens the musical spectrum towards Glitch-Hop, Techno and Bass.

Both releases are available as digital downloads. The releases are accompanied by PDF-Files that can be laser cutted on arbitrary material, similar to a vinyl record. The necessary script was developed and written by Amanda Ghassaei. Both the music and the script are licensed under Creative Commons (BY-NC-SA).

What better way to start a web sound lab "Elephant Bass", where the passion and love for the good vibes is the only constant assured, with a selection of the many songs received in recent months by members of the homonymous group on facebook . The result that comes out are 2 volumes with a thin imaginary dividing line between stepper and electro dub sounds that are directed to explore experimental music.

We thank all the artists who participated, all selected or not, and a very strong thanks to all those who push forward the sharing and love for music in all its forms.

Our second release by Siberian producer Ivan Zhurovich, a.k.a. htrspltn, is just as 'out there' as the first. It is one of a number of releases Ivan has put out this year on a variety of labels. Thankfully this doesn't indicate a drop in quality, but an increase in productivity.

19 is not an easy listen, but it is full of intriguing combinations of sounds, layered up and manipulated to produce something that is dense and highly atmospheric, hinting towards hip hop but never making the leap. Two thumbs up from us.

Electronic music is one of the major export products of the Netherlands. It seems we have an almost endless supply of talent in our country, more than anywhere else. Numerous young producers master all kinds of production skills within the confinement of their own bedrooms. A lot of these tracks never reach an audience beyond the producer’s headphones unfortunately. Album NEW 7.0 collects twelve of these incredible tracks. Alienating trip hop, heavy techno, old school house, future garage: talented producers from East Netherlands seem to pop up in all conceivable genre.

N.E.W. puts new producers from East Netherlands on the map. Selected for NEW 7.0 are Sam a La Bamalot, Badencourtrecords, Youri, Lopende Paddo, Addicted White Guy, Sonurber, The House Arts, Near Earth Object , Grimm Limbo, Le VingtQuatre, Knarsetand and Radion. This twelve men strong wave of producers will be promoted by NEW all year long in many different ways. First of all there's the release of the compilation album NEW 7.0, which will be available on a free CD at release parties in both Nijmegen and Deventer. Free digital copies are also available through online label esc.rec right here on this page and at the site www.nieuweelectronischewaar.nl.

Next to releasing their work and offer them a stage to perform, N.E.W. also offers these affiliated producers a chance to develop. At the site nieuweelectronischewaar.nl producers in East Netherlands are able to create a profile, share their latest productions with other members and offer each other feedback. All new tracks are considered for the next compilation release, NEW 8.0. Regular workshops and master classes are organized for active members. In December there was a sold out conference in Het Burgerweeshuis (Deventer) at which 80 N.E.W. producers had a chance to further develop their production skills under the guidance of (a.o.) Nobody Beats the Drum, Kubus and Pitto.

NEW is a platform for producers and electronic music from East Netherlands with the specific goal to discover and develop new talent in this field. There are many talented producers in East Netherlands that otherwise would not be heard. NEW is devoted to the development of these producers, both in the studio and on stage, by offering showcase performances, organizing workshops and releasing a new compilation every year. NEW is a collaboration between productiehuis ON, Het Burgerweeshuis and Doornroosje and has been made possible with the help of the municipalities of Nijmegen and Deventer.

It was a time not unlike now. A time where darkness and corruption reigned. The situation looked dire. Justice was required. Then during the dark of night a Hero was born. As time passed the Hero wandered into the wilderness alone. On his journey he came to know who he was and where he was to go, and that he was in fact not alone, for his Father's guiding spirit was always with him.

The Hero, now a man, found his way to a dusty town, a town called Hopefound. Here the darkness had corrupted the streets and blinded the hearts of women and men. Where there once was virtue and righteousness, now there was only perversion and tyranny that covered the town in its thick dark veil. The Light that first set life into motion and brought reality into sight was nowhere being sought. But now as our Hero's searching light lit up the dark streets it was made known that there was a new sheriff in town. The Hero donned his star-shaped badge and set forth to free the darkened souls who once knew the joy and truth of the Light. Everyone was in need of his saving grace, the good, the bad and the ugly. They were being released from the bonds of their self-destructive ways, their selfish deeds and the lies of the Enemy. Yes even those poor souls were being recued who thought too highly of themselves and those who had been left outside with no hope, forsaken by the rest of them. They were getting their true identity back.

The next day came as the Hero approached the town center. As he stopped for a moment's rest he was beset by the Corrupt Major's hired gang of bandits, thugs and thiefs, encircled from every side. The sun now sat at highnoon. A showdown was about to take place, a showdown that would decide everyone's fate. The bandits had taken hostage all those poor souls who were out there in the streets, holding up before the Hero their past offences and evil deeds. The Major reckoned to the Righteous Judge, who had also appeared among them, that they were to be his, as their vile deeds where not much different from the very likes of his. The Judge considered his plea but said that it was high time that the records be set straight and that the Mayor's own time would also soon come. The Hero called out for a ransom to be given, to pay the debt for the peoples' due retribution. The Judge then reckoned that only good could right this evil for Justice required that the balance between right and wrong be equal. It was said, the Hero's life in exchange for those who were held captive so that his righteousness might clear their name.

The Hero took the call and laid down his life for all, for he knew who they were and were they were to go, yes even those who had forsaken him. As the day's end slowly drew near and the rescued ran joyous and free, those who were there were sure they could see the silhouette of the Hero in the far distance, riding away into the sunset.

t's been sometime since theAudiologist's "Question Everything", and followup "Ophiuchi" which was released on the EOS netlabel in 2010. In between then and now he has concentrated his efforts as the driving force behind Altered:Carbon and Mitoma, both parallels to his solo work and brilliantly "Idios Kosmos" draws such experience gained in these ventures and applies them to his existing palletes, creating a brilliant "dark vs light" dual atmosphere all over this album.

Melodic elements are the skeletal framework of Idios Kosmos, with splintered glitchy hip-hop beats and hyper-edited effects carrying the listener along for the ride into interstellar landscapes. Also features a remix of "Jinx" originally produced by Nonima, theAudiologist's take on the track nurtures it into more fragile sounding territory, and in return gets remix treatment on "Opasenye", twisting the frailty of the original into an electronic stomper of ever evolving percussion and uplifting synths.

It may have been a while, but hell was it worth it... Welcome back.

El Haijn from the Ginyu Force crew is an Austrian DJ and producer known to some degree in the Drum & Bass scene as Bowsar, the artist formerly known as Bowser. He appeared as such on www004 one year ago; also on Mindtech, Black Seeds, Nocid Business, Flight, Anxiety Disorder (r.i.p.), Producer Network (r.i.p.), T3K, T-FREE, Nu:Gen and Gun Recordings. As El Haijn he produces Dubstep and so far he has released tunes mostly on Dub Bullet, also on Twenty/Twelve Netaudio and one in the multi channel art project "2999" of Peppermill Recordings. More releases are planned on Monkey Dub, Tripstep and Stoke Audio.
Apotheist, like El Haijn, is a member (the youngest) of the Ginyu Force crew in Vienna where they organize parties from time to time, mostly with Drum & Bass line ups. In production he focusses on Dubstep and combines it with elements of Classical Music. He as well has released some tunes on Dub Bullet and Twenty/Twelve Netaudio.

Di ritorno dopo il suo “Impro - Interferenza sull' Inno Nazionale” uscito il 17 marzo su AlchEmistica, Sergio Sorrentino partecipa al Guitar Improvvisation Project con un lavoro sofisticato e articolato in ben otto tracce che lo vedono suonare sia la chitarra elettrica che la classica.

Sergio firma quindi la nostra sesta uscita per improvvisazioni chitarristiche dimostrando come questa forma musicale stia lentamente ma irresistibilmente conquistando ormai anche ambiti che finora le erano alieni come la musica classica e la contemporanea.

Musica cinematica, fluida, coinvolgente e allo stesso tempo interessante, innovativa proiettata nel presente ma con un forte legame col passato come dimostra l'” Hommage à Maderna”.

A noi resta il grande piacere di continuare nel nostro lavoro di proposta e di presentazione di musiche e di musicisti innovativi, a voi la possibilità di ascoltarli mentre ci presentano il loro mondo, fatto di note, di silenzi, di atmosfere. Grazie Sergio.

Based in Russia, Lgor started producing music (Big beat / Breakbeat / Abstract Hip hop) in 2009 under his Evil Minds alias. In 2010, he started using his new alias : Lgor for his more experimental projects. This “Ward LP” showcases every faces of Lgor musical universe and follows a surprising path among different eletronic music genres. After a Dubstep start, also including Industrial and more experimental elements in the first 3 tracks, “Tunguska Meteor” brings us a puzzling dark Ambient tune. Then « Scheme » explores the boundaries between deconstructed IDM and Breakcore. When « Techno Viking » is a surprising Techno tune, kicking and progressive, « Candyman » then leads us back to Breakcore again. « 36 » ends this LP with another dark and oppressive Ambient track.
